Psalms 4:1(NLT)
For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be accompanied by stringed instruments.
Answer me when I call, O God who declares me innocent. Take away my distress. Have mercy on me and hear my prayer.

The Lord God gave us music and songs to help us build our faith and to strengthen our emotions. He has appointed certain people to oversee the music services during worship. He gives them the goal that the service should travel towards. They will lead you forward into victory.

King David, who was beloved of the Lord, understood the power of music played on instruments. He wrote many poems or psalms that he set to music. He intended these psalms to be played on instruments and accompanied with your voice. There is no greater way to celebrate and lift praises unto Adonai, the Most High God, than through music and song.

Singing your songs unto the Almighty causes Him to give heed and pay attention to your voice. As you sing, shout, and testify, God will respond to your calls. When you invite your heavenly Father into your circumstances, He sees humility and submission. He will answer you, for He has put you in right standing, where you have prosperity, equity, and justice. He takes you from the narrow and tight places, where there is trouble and crowding. Even though your adversary wants you to stumble over a pebble, he will not be able to afflict or confine you. Instead the Lord makes room for you and brings you into a broad, wide and large place.

Jehovah, the Lord, has bent and stooped down to you in kindness. He has bestowed His favor upon you. When you beseech and petition Him, He graciously grants you mercy. He carefully listens to your prayers, supplications, and intercessions. As you sing your hymns to your God, He considers and discerns what is best for you. He will lift you out of your distress.

Psalms 3:8(NIVUS)
From the LORD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people. <Selah>

Victory comes from you, O LORD. May your blessings rest on your people. Interlude

Have you ever been in a battle which seemed impossible to win? Did you get discouraged and just give up? This is not necessary since there is a way to obtain your victory. You should turn to Jehovah the Lord God, who is your salvation, deliverance and victory. He is able to liberate you from any prison or bondage that holds you.

Then you will be truly blessed and given prosperity from Almighty God. He has signed a treaty of peace with you. The Lord your God adores you and wants to exalt you. Blessing and not cursing will always be your lot, for you are His chosen child. You, therefore, should offer up thanksgiving and gratitude for the benefits that you have received.

So when you are in a place of seeming defeat, pause and remember what God has promised and victory will be yours

6-15-06 Psalms 3:6, 7

Psalms 3:6,7 (KJ21)
I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people that have set themselves against me round about.Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God! For Thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheekbone; Thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

Psalms 3:6,7 (NAS)
I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me round about.Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God! For Thou hast smitten all my enemies on the cheek; Thou hast shattered the teeth of the wicked.

Psalms 3:6,7 (NIVUS)
I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side. Arise, O LORD! Deliver me, O my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.

Psalms 3:6,7 (NLT)
I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side. Arise, O LORD! Rescue me, my God! Slap all my enemies in the face! Shatter the teeth of the wicked!

There is great darkness in the world today. Many nations and peoples live in nothing but darkness. Sometimes it seems as if light has been eclipsed by it. You, however, do not need to fear or be afraid, even if ten thousand terrorists come against you. A multitude may set themselves in front of you and try to hinder your passage, but they will not be able to lay you waste. You may be surrounded, but you still have someone to which you can turn.

The Lord Jehovah will arise on your behalf. When He comes on the scene, you will be saved and delivered. Almighty God will smite, attack, and destroy your enemies. He will strike them on the jaw and break it in pieces. He will violently crush those who are hostile to you, until they are maimed, crippled, and wrecked. Even the teeth of the wicked and ungodly will be broken. The Most High will make you completely victorious over them.

6-14-06 Psalms 3:5

Psalms 3:5 (KJ21)
I laid me down and slept; I awaked, for the LORD sustained me.

Psalms 3:5 (NAS)
I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustains me.

Psalms 3:5 (NIVUS)
I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.

Psalms 3:5 (NLT)
I lay down and slept. I woke up in safety, for the LORD was watching over me.

Did you know that as a child of the Most High God, you have many advantages over those who do not believe? One of these is that you do not have to worry. In fact, the Lord your God has given you so much peace that you can lie down and sleep in the middle of trying circumstances. You will not just take cat-naps, but will sleep a good long time, so that your strength is restored.

When you awaken and arouse yourself, you may feel as if you were on a summer vacation. You will find that you are rested, relaxed, and able to face the new day with hope, for during the night, Jehovah the Lord supported, sustained, and upheld you. You will be refreshed as you start your day.

6-13-06 Psalms 3:4

Psalms 3:4 (KJ21)
I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill. Selah

Psalms 3:4 (NAS)
I was crying to the LORD with my voice, And He answered me from His holy mountain. Selah.

Psalms 3:4 (NIVUS)
To the LORD I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill.

Psalms 3:4 (NLT)
I cried out to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy mountain. Interlude

When you are facing troubling circumstances, are you the type of person who needs to talk to someone? Who do you call? Have you ever considered calling to the Lord God? If you cry out to Jehovah, He will meet you.

If you need help, lift your voice and make some noise. The sound will pass through the atmosphere and rise up before God's throne. The Lord your God will respond to your cries and answer your prayers. Even though He is holy and separate from the human race, He is honored, when you seek His aid. He has chosen to dwell with you; you are His chosen. He delights in helping you.

Therefore, when trouble assails you, pause and think about the Lord. He is always there to deliver you.

6-12-06 Psalms 3:1-3

Psalms 3:1-3 (KJ21)
(A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.)
LORD, how they have increased that trouble me! Many are they that rise up against me! Many there be that say of my soul, "There is no help for him in God." (Selah) But Thou, O LORD, art a shield for me, my glory and the lifter up of mine head.

Psalms 3:1-3 (NAS)
(A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.)
O LORD, how my adversaries have increased! Many are rising up against me. Many are saying of my soul, "There is no deliverance for him in God." (Selah.) But Thou, O LORD, art a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head.

Psalms 3:1-3 (NIVUS)
(A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom
O LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me!Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him." But you are a shield around me, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head.

Psalms 3:1-3 (NLT)
(A psalm of David, regarding the time David fled from his son Absalom)
O LORD, I have so many enemies; so many are against me! So many are saying, "God will never rescue him!" (Interlude) But you, O LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts my head high.

You may be facing trouble in your family. Perhaps a close relative has turned into an enemy. You no longer want to see his face, but desire to flee. All that you can think is to hurry and get away. These that have come against you no longer see that you are the one that brings peace into the family. Without you, there would be no completeness, soundness, and safety.

You, therefore, turn to the Lord Jehovah, for you know He is the only One who can restore wholeness, health, and prosperity. When your enemies increase and become many, you flee to the refuge you find in the Almighty God. Even though they try to press you into narrow tight places, you are assured in the covenant that you have in the Lord God; He will keep you safe and uninjured. He gives you quiet tranquility, contentment, and friendship.

You should not fear the words of those that rise up and stand against you. Even though they say that God will not save and deliver you, you should know that is not true. These godless and unbelieving ones are only boasting and acting proudly. You know that the Most High God is your victory. He will lift you up and exalt you.

Therefore, reject and make light of their sayings. Like any other trash, you should just toss them aside. The Lord Jehovah is your shield and buckler, who defends and surrounds you. He gives you honor and dignity. Through Him, abundance and riches flow to you. He lifts up your head out of all that is rotten and wormy. In the Lord your God, you receive all that is choicest and best.

6-11-06 Psalm 45:17

Psalm 45:17 (NAS)
I will cause Thy name to be remembered in all generations; Therefore the peoples will give Thee thanks forever and ever.

Psalm 45:17 (NIVUS)
I will perpetuate your memory through all generations; therefore the nations will praise you for ever and ever.

Psalms 145:7 (KJV)
They shall eagerly utter the memory of Thine abundant goodness, And shall shout joyfully of Thy righteousness.

Psalms 145:7 (NLT)
They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

As a minister of the gospel, you have been given the opportunity and privilege to direct people to the One who is the Author and Finisher of that gospel. You have been ordained to proclaim His name and to establish His covenant. You are a sign and a memorial that brings glory and honor to His name, causing His fame and reputation to be widely known. You remind others, whether old or young, from generation to generation, that He, Emmanuel, has chosen to dwell with men

Therefore, the peoples and nations, those who formerly lived in darkness, praise Him. They throw up their hands and lift their voices in thanksgiving to the Lord of all. They continuously confess His name and His word. Forever shall His praise be on their lips.

Praises gush and flow forth from both your mouth and the mouths of your brethren. You cannot stop the spring that bubbles up from inside when you remember His greatness and abundant goodness. He has shown you His favor, causing fairness, beauty, joy, and prosperity to fill your life. You, therefore, shout for joy and sing in exaltation as you think and ponder on His justice and righteousness.
