2-24-07 Proverbs 4:1, 2

Proverbs 4:1, 2 (KJ21)
Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and be attentive to know understanding. For I give you good doctrine; forsake ye not my law.

Proverbs 4:1, 2 (NAS)
Hear, O sons, the instruction of a father, And give attention that you may gain understanding, For I give you sound teaching; Do not abandon my instruction.

Proverbs 4:1, 2 (NIVUS)
Listen, my sons, to a father’s instruction; pay attention and gain understanding. I give you sound learning, so do not forsake my teaching.

Proverbs 4:1, 2 (NLT)
My children, listen to me. Listen to your father’s instruction. Pay attention and grow wise, for I am giving you good guidance. Don’t turn away from my teaching.

Fathers come in different shapes and sizes. They can be strict disciplinarians or they may be absentee fathers. Whether he realizes it or not, a father is the most influential person to his children and it is important that he be the best possible example that he can be. However, the father does not hold all of the responsibility in the relationship with his children. His sons and daughters must pay attention to what he says. Their responsibility is to listen and obey.

If you had a good father, you were exposed to discipline and correction. As a wise son or daughter, you listened to his instruction and teaching. By hearing and obeying these, you were not subjected to his chastisement and punishment. Inclining to and heeding the words of your father helps you gain knowledge and perception. You will become discriminating and discerning, knowing what is right in every situation that you face. Through the understanding and insight that you gain, you will become more prudent and discreet. Your diligence will definitely pay off.

If you were blessed to have a godly father, you received the best teaching and instruction, for he taught you from God's word. Committing yourself to your father's manner of life and his faith causes you to take the lead. You will find more happiness and prosperity than those who choose a different way. Therefore, do not forsake your father's laws and directions. They will always bring you restoration and repair.

2-23-07 Exodus 15:13, 17

Exodus 15: 13, 17 (NIVUS)
"In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling...You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance— the place, O LORD, you made for your dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord,
your hands established

Exodus 15: 13, 17 (JPS)
Thou in Thy love hast led the people that Thou hast redeemed; Thou hast guided them in Thy strength to Thy holy habitation...Thou bringest them in, and plantest them in the mountain of Thine inheritance, the place, O LORD, which Thou hast made for Thee to dwell in, the sanctuary, O Lord, which Thy hands have established.

Exodus 15: 13, 17( BBE)
In your mercy you went before the people whom you have made yours; guiding them in your strength to your holy place...You will take them in, planting them in the mountain of your heritage, the place, O Lord, where you have made your house, the holy place, O Lord, the building of your hands.
.

The Lord God Almighty, who is kind, merciful, good and faithful, is the One who has taken away your reproach and shame. He leads and guides His own chosen people out of dark places into His light. Jehovah has redeemed and ransomed you. He has made you His kin, adopting you into His family.

He leads you to a place of rest, where there is plenty of water to refresh you. He brings you to the goal that He has already planned for you, but He takes you to that place in stages, so that you are not overwhelmed.

His strength helps you to prevail and He makes you stand firm and strong in Him. He brings you into His holy place, a place that is set apart and separate from anything in the world. He has consecrated and sanctified you for Himself. He is devoted to you and dedicated to your salvation. He has brought you into HIs beautiful home and you will dwell in rest with Him forever.

He has brought you near, carrying you into His holy mountain. There He has planted and established you. You belong to Him and are part of His inheritance, which is valuable and precious to Him. He has put you in a place that has a firm foundation. You are secure and well provisioned. You abide in the Lord Jehovah's sanctuary, in His temple. There you endure and reamin stable, for He has restored you.

2-22-07 1 Peter 4:10

1 Peter 4:10 (NAS)
As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

1 Peter 4:10 (NIVUS)
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.

1 Peter 4:10 (NRSV)
Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.

1 Peter 4:10 (Philips)
Serve one another with the particular gifts God has given each of you, as faithful dispensers of the wonderfully varied grace of God.

Through His favor and grace, Adonai the Lord God has fashioned a special gift for you that you have gladly received. It is a gift by which faith, knowledge, virtue, and holiness are displayed. You have received extraordinary power to serve the church of Christ in God’s kindness and benevolence. Your life is a picture of His forgiveness, pardon, restoration and preservation. You show others how God's power working in and through you provides those things necessary to sustain their spiritual and natural lives.

You are a commendable and admirable manager in Adonai's house, for you are faithful to carry out the commands of your Lord, the Master of your life. You are completely in harmony with God's will. Because of your honor and excellence, you have been made an overseer of His flocks. Through you others see His nature and various facets of His grace, which affords joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm and loveliness. He has given you grace of speech to declare His good will, loving-kindness, and favor. You constantly tell of His mercy, forgiveness, and pardon. In you He displays His strength and power. You are a portrait of your Father, who constantly increases you in knowledge and all other Christian virtues. Others see how you are blessed and prospering, thriving in every area of your life. You are a salty believer who causes others to thirst for the kind of relationship that you have with your Heavenly Father.

Rejoice and be glad in what He has done and is doing through you.

2-21-07 2 Peter 1:19

2 Peter 1:19 (KJ21)
We have also a more sure word of prophecy, unto which ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn and the day star arise in your hearts,

2 Peter 1:19 (NAS)
And so we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.

2 Peter 1:19 (NIVUS)
And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

2 Peter 1:19 (NLT)
Because of that, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. Pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a light shining in a dark place—until the day Christ appears and his brilliant light shines in your hearts.

You have chosen to hold onto God's word; you adhere and cling to it. It is a treasured possession that is stable, firm, sure and trustworthy. Through it, you learn God's thoughts. It sheds light and gives you the power to understand moral and spiritual truth. You do well to keep it near to your heart; let your mind always be attentive to it, for this is a beautiful, honorable and excellent thing! As a lamp, it guides your steps, making them clear; it manifests God's will for your life. It keeps you from dark, dirty, and squalid places. As you embrace it, the darkness does not overcome you and you continually live in its Light.

Yeshua the Messiah, the Word of God made flesh, is the Daystar of you life!

2-20-07 2 Corinthians 10:4, 5

2 Corinthians 10:4, 5 (NAS)
for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,

2 Corinthians 10:4, 5 (NIVUS)
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:4, 5 (Philips)
The very weapons we use are not human but powerful in God’s warfare for the destruction of the enemy’s strongholds. Our battle is to break down every deceptive argument and every imposing defense that men erect against the true knowledge of God. We fight to capture every thought until it acknowledges the authority of Christ.

You are a warrior, enlisted in the army of the Lord of Hosts. In Him you are not weak or fearful; in Him you are strong and mighty. When you come against any enemy, you can stand and fight, for the Lord has given you the implements, the tools, the weapons, and the armor that you need for the battle. You can trust these weapons for they are not governed by mere human nature, but they are strong, mighty, and powerful. God's weapons give you the advantage over the enemy. With them and through them, you are able and capable to pull down, demolish and destroy the fortresses and strongholds of your opponents.

When the enemy comes against you with subtle reasonings, trying to build or reinforce a stronghold in your life, you must refute and cast down those thoughts. Do not meditate on those things which are trying to lift themselves above the word of God. They are trying to build a barrier between you and God. Do not allow that to happen.
You have developed an intimate knowledge and understanding of God. You have come to know Him through your own personal experience. He has become your closest friend. Do not let anything, any person or any thought take away what you have already committed to the Lord.

You have authority over your own thoughts; so take any negative, fearful, or doubt-filled thought captive. These only have evil purposes for you. Instead think about, ponder on, and heed those thoughts that are based on God's word. Let your thinking become obedient to Him and His purposes for you. Listen to and submit to Him. For Jesus Christ, God's anointed Son, is your Lord and Messiah!

2-19-07 2 Corinthians 9:8

2 Corinthians 9:8 (NAS)
And God is able to make all grace abound to you,
that always having all sufficiency in everything,
you may have an abundance for every good deed;

2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIVUS)
And God is able to make all grace abound to you,
so that in all things at all times, having all that you need,
you will abound in every good work.

2 Corinthians 9:8 (NRSV)
And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance,
so that by always having enough of everything,
you may share abundantly in every good work

2 Corinthians 9:8 (Philips)
God can give you more than you can ever need,
so that you may always have sufficient for yourselves
and enough left over to give to every good cause.

Your God is powerful, mighty and strong. He is capable and able to do the greatest, as well as, the smallest things for you. All that He does is excellent!

He always wants the best for you; so He gives you abundant grace for every thing that you need and for every situation that you will ever encounter. His grace brings you joy, pleasure, delight and favor. He always extends His mercy and kindness to you. He strengthens and increases you in your faith, helping you in your daily walk with the Lord. He always gives you more than what is necessary. His grace is always abounding to you, making you like a flower that grows from the bud to the full bloom. He has richly furnished you with all that you need!

He wants your life to always be in a perfect condition; He, therefore, sufficiently provides for every necessity. He wants you to be in a position to stand in His grace with no other support or aid. He wants you to be content and He wants your mind to be at peace.

When you are in this position, you are in a place to give to others. All of the excess that you have received overflows to them. You excel in affluence. When any opportunity to further God's Kingdom presents itself to you, you do not need to hesitate about helping, for the Lord has given you exceedingly, abundantly, above all that you could ask or think. You have been blessed to be a blessing!

2-18-07 1 Timothy 6:6

1 Timothy 6:6 (KJ21)
But godliness with contentment is great gain.

1 Timothy 6:6 (NAS)
But godliness actually is a means of great gain,
when accompanied by contentment.

1 Timothy 6:6 (NIVUS)
But godliness with contentment is great gain.

1 Timothy 6:6 (NLT)
Yet true religion with contentment is great wealth.

You are a worshipper of the One True God! You revere Him and respect Him and that causes you to act well, to be well off, and to prosper. Your life is a billboard of godliness!

You, therefore, receive God's preeminent blessings. The Lord Jehovah is your source of abundant acquisition and gain. He gives you authority and power. Adonai esteems you highly and has also prepared many things for you on a grand and excellent scale. He makes you satisfied and contented. You possess unfailing strength and everything sufficient for your life. In Jesus Christ, you have more than enough!

Shalom!!!
