6-10-06 Psalms 2.12

Psalms 2:12 (KJ21)
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.

Psalms 2:12 (NAS)
Do homage to the Son, lest He become angry, and you perish in the way, For His wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!

Psalms 2:12 (NIVUS)
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

Psalms 2:12 (NLT)
Submit to God’s royal son, or he will become angry, and you will be destroyed in the midst of your pursuits—for his anger can flare up in an instant. But what joy for all who find protection in him!

Would you like to be equipped to handle whatever you confront? Then you should join yourself together with the Son of God. In fact, your relationship should be as close and intimate as lovers. A kiss and a gentle touch touch are not inappropriate and often kindle a fire that burns hotly.

However, if you reject the Son of the Almighty, you will experience His anger and displeasure. If you stray from the path that He has set for you, you will be lost and will perish along the way. If you arouse Jehovah's wrath just a little, you will be consumed by His fire. You will become small and diminished.

But you do not need to fear the anger and wrath of the Lord Jehovah, for you have put your trust, confidence, and hope in Him. You have sought Him for refuge and protection and now you are blessed and happy. You are able to walk straight, which allows you to advance and make progress.

6-9-06 Psalm 2:10, 11

Psalm 2:10, 11 (KJV)
Be wise now therefore, O ye kings; be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling.

Psalm 2:10, 11 (NAS)
Now therefore, O kings, show discernment; Take warning, O judges of the earth.Worship the LORD with reverence, And rejoice with trembling.

Psalm 2:10, 11 (NIVUS)
Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling.

Psalm 2:10, 11 (NLT)
Now then, you kings, act wisely! Be warned, you rulers of the earth! Serve the LORD with reverent fear, and rejoice with trembling.

As a son of the Most High God, you are now royalty. You are a king with the authority to rule. This position requires much from you. You must be wise, prudent, and circumspect. When you gain understanding and insight, you will prosper and have success.

You must also be teachable and disciplined. You should readily receive instruction and admonition. Chastening and correction will only cause you to govern and judge more wisely. You have been called of the Lord to counsel, advise, and plead cases before His throne. All that you have learned will give you the power to decide what to do in controversy.

Therefore, work for and serve Jehovah, the Lord your God. Fear Him and stand in awe. Always show Adonai the honor, reverence and respect that is due Him. Although you fear and tremble before the Almighty, you should also rejoice and exalt before Him, for He has installed you as a king to rule and reign in His

6-8-06 Song of Solomon

Song of Solomon 1:14 (KJ21)
My beloved is unto me as a cluster of henna in the vineyards of Engedi."

Song of Solomon 1:14 (NAS)
"My beloved is to me a cluster of henna blossoms In the vineyards of Engedi."

Song of Solomon 1:14 (NIVUS)
My lover is to me a cluster of henna blossoms from the vineyards of En Gedi.

Song of Solomon 1:14 (NLT)
He is like a bouquet of flowers in the gardens of En-gedi."

You are Adonai's beloved and friend. He regards you highly. To Him, you are as a great cluster of grapes, with a soothing and yet stimulating fragrance. The Lord finds great satisfaction in you. He ransomed you from and atoned for your sins. He extended His mercy to you; you are now forgiven and cleansed. You are pardoned and reconciled. Death has been satisfied through the sacrifice of the Almighty's only begotten Son.

You have been planted in the Most High's garden and vineyard, where there is always increase. When He looks over the landscape, His eye always falls on you, for you are like a beautiful flowing fountain. God is content with what He sees in you; He bestows His favor on you. You are well-pleasing to Him, for you are His beloved and friend.

6-7-06 Psalms 127:2

Psalms 127:2 (KJ21)
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He giveth His beloved sleep.

Psalms 127:2 (NAS)
It is vain for you to rise up early, To retire late, To eat the bread of painful labors; For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.

Psalms 127:2 (NIVUS)
In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat— for he grants sleep to those he loves.

Psalms 127:2 (NLT)
It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.

Have you ever stayed up at night worrying about a situation? Did your worry change anything? Usually the only things that happen are that your stomach acids churn and you lose sleep. Your worry does not solve anything and, in fact, may cause more problems in the long run.

What does God's word tell you about this feeble human effort? It says that it is a destructive evil, which brings ruin and desolation. It is useless and vain. If you get up early or haunt your house at night with worry, you may find yourself in a tempest. This kind of storm only causes waste in your life.

The Lord also tells you that it is vain to let sorrow and grief consume you. You should not labor and toil over your pain and anger. If you constantly feed on this type of bread, you are worshiping your troubles instead of the Lord your God. You will displease Adonai and cause vexation for yourself.

You should rest in the fact that you are a beloved son of the Most High God. He boils over with love for you. In the midst of your troubles, the Lord God will give you healthy sleep. During the night, He will bring deliverance and restoration.

Therefore, cast your cares on Him. Give up your worry; then sing and worship God.

6-6-06 Deuteronomy 33:12

Deuteronomy 33:12 (KJ21)
And of Benjamin he said: "The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by Him; and the LORD shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between His shoulders."

Deuteronomy 33:12 (NAS)
Of Benjamin he said, "May the beloved of the LORD dwell in security by Him, Who shields him all the day, And he dwells between His shoulders."

Deuteronomy 33:12 (NIVUS)
About Benjamin he said: "Let the beloved of the LORD rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the LORD loves rests between his shoulders."

Deuteronomy 33:12 (NLT)
Moses said this about the tribe of Benjamin: "The people of Benjamin are loved by the LORD and live in safety beside him. He surrounds them continuously and preserves them from every harm."

Everyone wants to be loved; it is one of mankind's primal needs. That is why people seek to establish close personal relationships. There is one relationship that many neglect, however, and that is the relationship with their Maker and Creator. Perhaps if they knew that He already loves them, these people would seek Him instead of shying away.

You have discovered the truth that Adonai, the Most High God loves you. You know that you are His beloved, for you have chosen to go the right way. You are no longer bound or impeded by sin. You do not fear nor dread being in the presence of your Heavenly Father.

Now the Lord Jehovah causes you to dwell in safety and security. With your trust established in Him, you become confident and bold. The Lord shelters and shields you from harm. His presence surrounds and covers you. You can walk around barefoot and not fear stubbing your toe. As a father carries his child on his shoulders, so does the Lord your God carry you.

6-5-06 Psalms 2:8

Psalms 2:8 (KJ21)
Ask of Me, and I shall give Thee the heathen for Thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for Thy possession.

Psalms 2:8 (NAS)
Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Thine inheritance, And the very ends of the earth as Thy possession.

Psalms 2:8 (NIVUS)
Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.

Psalms 2:8 (NLT)
Only ask, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the ends of the earth as your possession.

Many people assume that they should not ask much of the Most High God. They think He is too busy to care about their seemingly small and petty concerns. That, however, is not how the Almighty thinks. He wants His children and people to ask Him for big and impossible things, for He is the only one who can grant them. This will bring Him glory and honor.

One thing that you can seek and request from the Lord God is that He would give you nations. But what exactly does that mean? In one sense, it means that God will cause you to rise and be exalted in triumph. You will increase in wealth and notoriety. You will receive favor from unexpected sources. In every area, your name will be lifted up. You will be blessed with possessions and an inheritance. The Lord will divide the lands of your enemies and set you upon that property. From one end of the earth to the other, you will be known; your wealth, lands, and influence will be great to all peoples.

Therefore, do not neglect to inquire of the Lord; He will do great and mighty things for you.

6-4-06 Psalms 2:5, 6

Psalm 2: 5, 6 (KJ21)
Then shall He speak unto them in His wrath, and vex them in His sore displeasure:"Yet have I set My King upon My holy hill of Zion."

Psalm 2: 5, 6 (NAS)
Then He will speak to them in His anger And terrify them in His fury: "But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain."

Psalm 2: 5, 6 (NIVUS)
Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,"I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill."

Psalm 2: 5, 6 (NLT)
Then in anger he rebukes them, terrifying them with his fierce fury. For the LORD declares, "I have placed my chosen king on the throne in Jerusalem, my holy city."

Although Adonai, the Most High God, has the power and authority to rule, He is not a hard-fisted Master. He describes Himself as love and He leads and guides your life through love. He is patient and long-suffering, but there are things that make Him angry.

Those who set themselves up as kings and rulers over their own lives displease and disturb our benevolent Lord. However, He does not explode in threats; He first speaks warnings and promises, for He desires that these enemies have a change of heart. If they refuse, then they should fear His hot and furious wrath.

These self-made kings will not rule forever, for the Almighty has anointed, set up and installed His own King to reign and counsel. He is Holy and set apart from mere men. He is majestic and to be honored. He excels over all others. He is bright, pre-eminent, and enduring. And He shall reign forever and ever!
