6-7-08 Galatians 1:15, 16 God Chose and Revealed His Son to You

Galatians 1:15, 16 (NAS)
But when He who had set me apart, even from my mother?s womb, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood,

Galatians 1:15, 16 (Philips)
But when it pleased God (who had chosen me from the moment of my birth, and called me by his grace)to reveal his Son to me: so that I might proclaim him to the non-Jewish world, I did not at once talk over the matter with any human being.
Galatians 1:15, 16 (NLT)
But then something happened! For it pleased God in his kindness to choose me and call me, even before I was born! What undeserved mercy! Then he revealed his Son to me so that I could proclaim the Good News about Jesus to the Gentiles. When all this happened to me, I did not rush out to consult with anyone else;

Before the foundation of the world, Adonai gave thought to what He would do for the men He would create. He determined that it would be good to choose some for His special service. You were one that Almighty God marked and separated for Himself. He was well pleased with you and favorably inclined towards you. While you were still in your mother's womb, you were selected by your Heavenly Father to be well off and prospering.
He called aloud and invited you to bear His name. He placed you in a position to hear and receive His orders and commands, for He brought you into intimate relationship. Adonai bestowed the title of "son" on you through His good will and loving kindness. Not only did He call you by His mercy and grace, but God also strengthens your faith and helps you to do His will by that same mercy and grace.
Most importantly, Adonai's grace and mercy revealed the finished work of Jesus, the Messiah, to you. At one point, your eyes, your heart, and your spirit were veiled with darkness, but then God uncovered them and showed you the salvation that Jesus obtained for you. He changed your captivity into freedom and victory. What was hidden, concealed and escaped the notice of others was manifested to you.
Now you have the right and privilege to announce this good news of Jesus and to uncover this truth to a multitude from different tribes, nations, and people groups. You do not need to consult with others about this, or receive counsel, for this is Adonai's will for you. Mere flesh and blood, which is prone to sin and opposed to God, cannot know His will, but you have received His Spirit and His word. You know that the call you received from the Almighty is valid and true.

6-1-08 Romans 9:22, 23 You Are An Object of God's Mercy

Romans 9:22, 23 (NAS)
What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? And He did so in order that He might make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory,

Romans 9:22, 23 (Philips)
May it not be that God, though he must sooner or later expose his wrath against sin and show his controlling hand, has yet most patiently endured the presence in his world of things that cry out to be destroyed? Can we not see, in this, his purpose in demonstrating the boundless resources of his glory upon those whom he considers fit to receive his mercy, and whom he long ago planned to raise to glorious life?

Romans 9:22, 23 (NLT)
God has every right to exercise his judgment and his power, but he also has the right to be very patient with those who are the objects of his judgment and are fit only for destruction. He also has the right to pour out the riches of his glory upon those he prepared to be the objects of his mercy?

Adonai, the Lord God Almighty, has the power to destroy wicked men with just one word. If it were His will and determined purpose to eliminate them, He would have only to raise his hand against them and they would be no more.

You used to be counted among these wicked, sinful men and now you are so thankful that the Lord did not manifest His anger towards you. He did not use His power and strength against you. You did not know nor were you touched with His wrath. Instead He bore with you in patience, forbearance, and longsuffering. Now you are grateful that He was slow in avenging the wrongs that you committed against Him. Although you were originally fitted and framed for utter destruction, the Lord had mercy on you.

Now you are a vessel of quality, God's chosen instrument. Daily you receive more knowledge of the abundance, riches, and wealth that He has made available to you. Through Adonai's mercy, goodness, and kindness, you shall be filled and fulfilled, for the Lord God has always desired to help you. He, therefore, sent His Son Jesus to take your sin so that you could receive His righteousness. In this God showed you His compassion.

He also desires to share His glory with you. You have seen His splendor, brightness, and majesty. Because Adonai is magnificent and excellent, He gives you dignity and grace. He is pleased with you and bestows His blessings, that He had already prepared, upon you. He goes before you to make your path level, so that your road will be passable as you journey.
