1-07-06 2 Chronicles 20:22

2 Chronicles 20:22 (KJ21)
And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were smitten.

2 Chronicles 20:22 (NAS)
And when they began singing and praising, the LORD set ambushes against the sons of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; so they were routed.

2 Chronicles 20:22 (NIVUS)
As they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.

2 Chronicles 20:22 (NLT)
At the moment they began to sing and give praise, the LORD caused the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir to start fighting among themselves.

You have been told to praise the Lord, for He is worthy of our praise and worship. However, did you know that singing praises to Adonai can be a weapon used against you enemies? Although your loud and joyful songs and boasts may appear to others to be clamorously foolish, in fact, you are driving a wedge against the enemy. Through your seemingly mad celebration, you are providing an opening for the Lord to act in your behalf. Your praises actually wound and defile your foes.

Then Jehovah, the Lord your God, lurks and lies in wait to ambush those adversaries. These are nothing more than children of their father, the devil. Like Moab and Ammon, they have been born of the incest and sin of their father. Even though they come against you in force, you need not fear. Continue to worship and revere Adonai. Come before Him in thanksgiving and confession, as your spiritual ancestor Judah did. As you fellowship with your God, He will smite down and defeat your enemies. They shall surely stumble, be beaten, and slain.

Rejoice, therefore, for your enemies' future is much worse than your present.

1-06-06 Psalm 119:52

Psalm 119:52(KJ21)
I remembered Thy judgments of old, O LORD, and have comforted myself.

Psalm 119:52 (NAS)
I have remembered Thine ordinances from of old, O LORD, And comfort myself.

Psalm 119:52 (NIVUS)
I remember your ancient laws, O LORD, and I find comfort in them.

Psalm 119:52 (NLT)
I meditate on your age-old laws; O LORD, they comfort me.

Sometimes you are facing decisions that are difficult to make. You begin to weigh the pros and the cons, but that does not give you the answer. The more you meditate on the problem, the more confused and worried you become. Now it is almost impossible to make the right decision.

However, if you begin to meditate and remember the word of Adonai, you will find that your mind and emotions will settle down. Almighty God is a righteous judge and knows the perfect way to decide a case. Through His word that you have hidden within your heart, you will receive wisdom and you will be able to make the right choice.

As you continue to recall how the Lord has always vindicated and brought you justice in the past, you know that He will continue to do the same for you now and into the future. Knowing this will comfort and console you. You will have no regrets if you put your faith and trust in Adonai's word and His judgments. You can be at ease, for the Lord your God will have compassion on you.

01-05-06 Psalms 119:49, 50

Psalms 119:49, 50 (KJ21)
Remember the word unto Thy servant, upon which Thou hast caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy word hath quickened me.

Psalms 119:49, 50 (NAS)
Remember the word to Thy servant, in which Thou hast made me hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, that Thy word has revived me.

Psalms 119:49, 50 (NIVUS)
Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.

Psalms 119:49, 50 (NLT)
Remember your promise to me, for it is my only hope. Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles.

Almighty God has formed a perfect plan for your life; from the very foundation of the world He has established it. And you have embraced His will, letting His desires become yours.

Now you are doing everything that you know to do to carry out His purposes. However, sometimes you become discouraged as time passes and you are waiting for the fulfillment of Adonai's word to you.
When these doubts come against you, call upon the Lord your God, asking Him to remember you. He will cause you to hope once more in His word, giving you the strength and patience to wait with renewed trust.

If you feel afflicted and oppressed, weakened and humiliated by the enemy's taunts, turn again to Jehovah. He will comfort you, pouring out His compassion on you. Listen again for His promises and commands; for He intends good things for you. His word will give you life, reviving and sustaining you. It will preserve you from discouragement, faintness and death. By it, your dreams will be restored and you will see new growth. Then you will breathe easier, knowing that your faith is not in vain.

1-04-06 Deuteronomy 11:12

Deuteronomy 11:12 (KJ21)
a land which the LORD thy God careth for. The eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.

Deuteronomy 11:12 (NAS)
a land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning even to the end of the year.

Deuteronomy 11:12 (NIVUS)
It is a land the LORD your God cares for; the eyes of the LORD your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.

Deuteronomy 11:12 (NLT)
a land that the LORD your God cares for. He watches over it day after day throughout the year!

Adonai is the Lord your God. He is your sovereign Ruler, who is your Master, owner, and controller. In this, you are truly blessed, for there are many who are not safe and secure in the hands of any god. They have taken up the control of their own lives and their own lands. They are weighed down with care.

Jehovah, the Lord, does not withhold blessings from you; He has given you your very own land to tend. Although you work to cultivate and dress it, you know that you are not alone in the struggle. The Almighty God cares for you and your concerns, as you diligently follow and seek Him in worship. You require His help and you know He will surely take care of you.

The Lord your God constantly has His eyes on you. He always thinks the best of you and is content with who you are. You have His favor. He sees you as a fountain that is the center piece of a beautiful landscape. When He regards you, He sees His resemblance reflected back to Him. He is perpetually pleased with you. From the very beginning of the year until its end, you are under the care of your Lord. As the Lord provides for you in the present, He will continue to do so into the future. Repeatedly you will see His hand of blessing in your life. Even your posterity will be rewarded.

Planes, Trains, & Automobiles

I had the blessing and the opportunity to travel to visit my family over the Christmas holiday. Although I like the actual travel, the preparation for me seems always to be a major production. I am not a good packer. I always pack more than I need, just in case, and in the winter time, it is more difficult. I am at the stage in life when I do not know if I will be hot or cold; therefore, I have to take long sleeved tops, as well as short sleeved ones. So my winter vacations require more luggage.

Of course, since I am a single lady, getting the luggage to the car and then from the car into the airport can be a major and frustrating experience. I always feel like a Klutz trying to juggle three bags up to the ticket counter and now further to the security area. As I was thinking about this trip just completed, I realized that the Lord had provided help for me in unexpected ways. First when I got to the airport with my three bags, an airport employee saw my struggle and he helped me inside with my luggage. Then once I checked in with my bags tagged for the final destination, the man behind the counter told me to take them to the security point. I was frustrated and blurted out, "Oh I just hate to come to the airport!." Well, I guess he saw my frustration and generously offered to take them himself. So, in my first airport, the Lord provided two men to help me.

When I got to my final destination, my checked bags did not make it, due to delays in the flights. So even though that was a little inconvenient, I did not have to lug my bags from the airport to the rental car. And I did receive them the next day.

On the way back home, I decided to get my ticket and check my bags first, before returning my rental car. That worked well. I did not have to take my carry on in with me then and so only had two bags to contend with and that was easier. Then when I got home, my bags were again no shows. They arrived later that night. So I did not have the struggle then either. All in all, I believe the Lord had mercy on me and provided in unique ways.

Therefore, if you are facing frustating and seemingly inconvenient circumstances, look at them again. They may be blessings in disguise.

1-03-6 Genesis 1:14

Genesis 1:14 (KJ21)
And God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years;

Genesis 1:14 (NAS)
Then God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years;

Genesis 1:14 (NIV)
And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years,

Genesis 1:14 (NLT)
And God said, "Let bright lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. They will be signs to mark off the seasons, the days, and the years.

Adonai's word is powerful and creative. When He spoke, His strength and might were encompassed in those words. Since He is the Almighty and the Most High, no one or nothing can keep His words from coming to fulfillment. The Lord utters each and every word for a purpose; nothing idle comes forth from His mouth.

One of the first things that Adonai created was light, so that men could have brightness and illumination in their world. He set these lights, the sun and the moon, in the expanse of the heavens. One reason for this was that mankind would need to look up to see the light. He also wanted to separate daytime and night-time, allowing us to know when it was time to rest. The repetition of day to night and night to day also helps us to know life is often made up of repetition.

These lights are signs and standards that mark times and seasons. The Lord knows that we need ways to determine the paths of our lives. We need to know we are walking in the light or in the darkness. It is important for us to see natural seasons and their changes, so that we will realize the changing times and seasons in our own lives. We realize that seasons have appointed times. Spring comes before summer and autumn comes before winter. All have been ordered from the Lord.

So too in our lives, Adonai has appointed certain things for certain times. What is ordained for tomorrow will not come today. What was yesterday can not be brought into the future. Everything is for an appointed time. We should not live in the hopes, dreams nor regrets of the past. We should look to the future, but live in the present. Even though we may be in the daily repetitious cycle, we should never lose heart. A new season is on the horizon.

1-02-06 Acts 17:27

Acts 17:27 (KJ21)
that they should seek the Lord, if perhaps they might feel after Him and find Him, though He be not far from every one of us.

Acts 17:27 (NAS)
that they should seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;

Acts 17:27 (NIVUS)
God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.

Acts 17:27 (NLT)
His purpose in all of this was that the nations should seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him—though he is not far from any one of us.

Every man, woman, and child has a purpose and that simply is to seek after the Lord. You have discovered this secret. In your reasoning, you began to inquire into the things of God. As your thinking and meditation revolved around Yeshua, the Messiah, you found the One you had been looking for all of your life. Now you aim at what He requires and you strive after what He demands. Your cravings for the Truth have brought you into intimate relationship with your Creator and Master, Jesus Christ the Lord.

You have discovered that the Invisible God longs to touch you with His presence and that often He lets you feel Him. Adonai has struck a chord within you and He makes your heart vibrate like the strings of a musical instrument. Now you sing His song, praising and celebrating Him with your hymns.

In your search, you have found Him. Your thorough thought, examination, and scrutiny have brought you understanding and knowledge of God's character. Through your practice and experience you now recognize the Lord, when He shows Himself. You know that He is always ready at hand and not far off. He is not remote nor distant. Although Adonai is great and mighty, He is near to you and wants to bless your life.

01-01-06 Psalms 119:160

Psalms 119:160 (KJ21)
Thy word is true from the beginning, and every one of Thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

Psalms 119:160 (NAS)
The sum of Thy word is truth, And every one of Thy righteous ordinances is everlasting.

Psalms 119:160 (NIVUS)
All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.

Psalms 119:160 (NLT)
All your words are true; all your just laws will stand forever.

Beginnings are always important and momentous. Birthdays mark the beginning of a person's life. Anniversaries mark the beginning, as well as, the ongoing success of a relationship, a business, or a date of employment. You celebrate the beginning of a new year. Remembering each beginning gives you hope for the future, for you see where you started and what you have achieved.

The best beginnings are those which start with the Word of God. In the beginning Adonai, Almighty God, created the heavens and the earth with His Word, for the Word was in the beginning with God and the Word was God. He spoke and all things came into being. In the beginning, the Lord uttered and proclaimed His promises and commands to mankind. and throughout time, men have come to see the Truth and faithfulness of these sayings.

You have come to know how sure and reliable God's word is. When you consent to and agree with it, you remain stable and firm. It supports, upholds, and nourishes you daily. You are established, for God's word in your life has proved to be sure and lasting. As you continue to trust and believe, you will certainly stand firm.

You know that Adonai's righteous judgments will stand forever. They are what give you an eternal and everlasting future. God's word will last and endure; therefore, you will last and endure, because you have trusted in Jehovah. In the beginning, the Lord set up His covenant of peace with man and you are a partaker of the blessings of that covenant. Remember the beginning of your faith in God's word and it will carry you through until the end.
