7-1-06 Psalms 5:11

Psalms 5:11(KJ21)
But let all those that put their trust in Thee rejoice; let them ever shout for joy, because Thou defendest them; let them also that love Thy name be joyful in Thee.

Psalms 5:11(NAS)
But let all who take refuge in Thee be glad, Let them ever sing for joy; And mayest Thou shelter them, That those who love Thy name may exult in Thee.

Psalms 5:11(NIVUS)
But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

Psalms 5:11 (NLT)
But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Protect them, so all who love your name may be filled with joy.

Today's world is full of fearful and terrifying things. Daily the war on terror continues and as you listen to the evening news, you may feel fear trying to take hold of you. At times like these, there is a place where you can flee for protection. Jehovah the Lord is your refuge and you always have hope in Him. Instead of cowering, you can be bold, confident, and secure. As you put your trust in the Lord, you can go through your days without a care.

Therefore, brighten up and rejoice. You can perpetually be filled with joy. Instead of shrieking and trembling, you can shout or sing aloud in triumph, for the Lord has fenced and hedged you in with His protection. He covers and defends you, for your life is entwined and joined to Him.

You know that you love the name of the Lord God. You honor His authority and His character fills you with affection. In your eyes and heart, He is a person of significant renown. He is high and lofty and is your reward. Thinking of Him causes to jump for joy and to exult

6-30-06 Psalms 5:10

Psalms 5:10 (KJ21)
Destroy Thou them, O God! Let them fall by their own counsels. Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against Thee.

Psalms 5:10 (NAS)
Hold them guilty, O God; By their own devices let them fall! In the multitude of their transgressions thrust them out, For they are rebellious against Thee.

Psalms 5:10 (NIVUS)
Declare them guilty, O God! Let their intrigues be their downfall. Banish them for their many sins, for they have rebelled against you.

Psalms 5:10 (NLT)
O God, declare them guilty. Let them be caught in their own traps. Drive them away because of their many sins, for they rebel against you.

Elohim is one name of our Supreme God. He is great and mighty. The Almighty is strong and powerful. He is the Chief One, with absolute authority to rule.

There are some men who do not submit to His authority. They have their own devices and purposes to fulfill. In their determination to do what they want, these men will spend hours deliberating, seeking their own ways. If they cannot make adequate plans on their own, they then seek out other weak human beings for counsel and advice. They never think to turn to the Lord for His guidance. In this, they are setting themselves up for a fall. They will be cast down and lost as they follow their own ideas, which are always inferior to God's. They are on a desolate path that leads to destruction.

These men have chosen to live in rebellion and revolt against Adonai, the Most High. They are constantly in sin and transgression, for they have broken away from His just authority. Their trespasses against God are many and they are often offended at others. Because of this they will be banished and cast out from God's presence. He will chase and drive them away with force, for they have provoked the Lord in their bitterness. Their disobedience and resistance will bring them grief and punishment, for they are guilty.

6-29-06 Psalms 5:9

Psalms 5:9 (KJ21)
For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is exceeding wickedness. Their throat is an open sepulcher; they flatter with their tongue.

Psalms 5:9 (NAS)
There is nothing reliable in what they say; Their inward part is destruction itself; Their throat is an open grave; They flatter with their tongue.

Psalms 5:9 (NIVUS)
Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with destruction. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongue they speak deceit.

Psalms 5:9 (NLT)
My enemies cannot speak one truthful word. Their deepest desire is to destroy others. Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave. Their speech is filled with flattery.

Although you were bowed down under the weight of your sin, the Lord your God has made you to stand erect. In Him you have been established, fixed, and sure. He has made your path proper and prosperous. With His help you have become faithful and firm. You now stand stable in His presence; even your mouth speaks what is right and perfect.

However, there are many other people who do not display the character that you do. They are not faithful and their frame is weak. They only make provision to sin, for the very center of their beings is perverse and wicked. They covet and desire to ruin other lives. They chew the cud of destruction. The stench of the grave is evident when they open their mouths. Their words may appear smooth and flattering, but the evil in them is almost unstoppable. Even though they say they are only venting, their words bring forth death. They want to separate you from what you value and take away your portion. They are faithless and wicked.

6-28-06 Psalms 5:8

Psalms 5:8 (KJ21)
Lead me, O LORD, in Thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make Thy way straight before my face.

Psalms 5:8 (NAS)
O LORD, lead me in Thy righteousness because of my foes; Make Thy way straight before me.

Psalms 5:8 (NIVUS)
Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies— make straight your way before me.

Psalms 5:8 (NLT)
Lead me in the right path, O LORD, or my enemies will conquer me. Tell me clearly what to do, and show me which way to turn.

Before the United States of America became a nation, people primarily from Europe traveled across the Atlantic Ocean to colonize the North American continent. They were looking for new lives with new opportunities. Many were led by the Holy Spirit to this new land.

You daily have a similar opportunity as these early colonists. Jehovah the Lord wants to lead and guide your life into new experiences and opportunities. As you allow the Lord to govern your life, He will transport you through His righteousness to a place where your enemies cannot reach you. Through you, Adonai the Almighty is colonizing the earth and establishing His Kingdom of rightness and justice.

Therefore, boldly step out in the way that the Most High God leads you. As you begin to walk, the lord will make the path before you straight. Soon your will find that your journey is pleasant and prosperous. Your plans and purposes will be established as a well-trodden road. You will also thresh in fields along the way.

6-27-06 Psalms 5:7

Psalms 5:7 (KJ21)
But as for me, I will come into Thy house in the multitude of Thy mercy, and in Thy fear will I worship toward Thy holy temple.

Psalms 5:7 (NAS)
But as for me, by Thine abundant lovingkindness I will enter Thy house, At Thy holy temple I will bow in reverence for Thee.

Psalms 5:7 (NIVUS)
But I, by your great mercy, will come into your house; in reverence will I bow down toward your holy temple.

Psalms 5:7 (NLT)
Because of your unfailing love, I can enter your house; with deepest awe I will worship at your Temple.

Many people would like to hang out with the rich and famous. They would like to have easy access to their time and their homes. It makes them feel important, even if they actually are not. You, however, do not have to dream of hob-knobbing with the cool and beautiful people of this world. You already have access to the most important person in the universe. Jehovah the Lord has invited you into His home and His family. You are able to go into His house whenever you desire, for His dwelling place has become your dwelling place.

You have discovered an abundance of goodness and kindness in the Lord. As you continue to abide with the Most High God, you see more of His greatness. You desire to remain near Him for you never feel ashamed in His presence. He does not reproach you, but always extends His love and mercy. His home is a house of mercy that flows like clear and refreshing water.

Adonai's palace is a temple sanctuary for you, where you bow down in worship, reverence, respect, and honor. You stand in awe and astonishment before the Almighty, for He is Holy. Nothing else that you have seen or known can compare to Him. He is majestic in splendor.

6-26-06 Psalms 5:5 6

Psalms 5:5, 6 (KJ21)
The foolish shall not stand in Thy sight; Thou hatest all workers of iniquity. Thou shalt destroy them that speak lies; the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.

Psalms 5:5, 6 (NAS)
The boastful shall not stand before Thine eyes; Thou dost hate all who do iniquity. Thou dost destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the man of bloodshed and deceit.

Psalms 5:5, 6 (NIVUS)
The arrogant cannot stand in your presence; you hate all who do wrong. You destroy those who tell lies; bloodthirsty and deceitful men the LORD abhors.

Psalms 5:5, 6 (NLT)
Therefore, the proud will not be allowed to stand in your presence, for you hate all who do evil. You will destroy those who tell lies. The LORD detests murderers and deceivers.

Some people loudly boast of themselves and always look for ways to shine in front of others. If no one else will praise them, they praise and commend themselves. In this they show that they are fools and not worthy of the praise they seek. They are actually acting like madmen.

Their foolishness will not allow them to stand in the presence of the Lord. He does not even want to catch them out of the corner of His eyes, for they are not well pleasing in His sight. These fools are not on the same level with Jehovah, the Lord or those who are upright in heart. The Almighty God hates those who do wickedness and cause trouble, for their iniquity only bring sorrow.

Jehovah the Lord will destroy those that speak lies and deceit. Their threatening and warnings will not avail them, for they will still be put to death and perish. Those who shed blood are an abomination to the Most High. He detests their treachery. They are only tricksters who betray others. Soon their voices will be silenced.

6-25-06 Psalms 5:4

Psalms 5:4 (KJ21)
For Thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness; neither shall evil dwell with Thee.

Psalms 5:4 (NAS)
For Thou art not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; No evil dwells with Thee.

Psalms 5:4 (NIVUS)
You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil; with you the wicked cannot dwell.

Psalms 5:4 (NLT)
O God, you take no pleasure in wickedness; you cannot tolerate the slightest sin.

It is true that God loves you, but that does not mean that you can take advantage of His love. You do not have the free course to do whatever you want and to sin against the Almighty and man. You may not suffer the consequences immediately, but you need to know that those consequences will eventually catch up with you.

Jehovah God, the One True God, is mighty in strength and power. He is your leader and chief, who stands above you like a mighty tree or the pillar of your door. He is the prominent Ram of God who shed His holy, unstained blood to take away your sin. His splendor and majesty surpasses all others. He is Immanuel, which means 'God with us' and He is worthy of all your praise.

Even though Adonai the Most High God loves you and delights in you, there are certain things that do not give Him pleasure and delight. Wrong and wickedness, and violence and crime do not please the Lord God. These only produce guilt and condemnation. If you act wickedly, you will reap the consequences of your actions.

You need to realize that nothing that is bad or evil dwells with the Most High. Anything that gives pain, unhappiness, and misery is a stranger in the Kingdom of God and cannot continue in His presence. Unkindness and viciousness should never be part of you. If you allow these to continue in your life, you will not remain and abide with the Lord; there will be no hospitality for you in the house of God. Instead you will be shattered and broken into pieces.
