8-12-06 Psalms 9:15

Psalms 9:15 (KJ21)
The heathen have sunk down into the pit that they made; in the net which they hid, their own foot is taken.

Psalms 9:15 (NAS)
The nations have sunk down in the pit which they have made; In the net which they hid, their own foot has been caught.

Psalms 9:15 (NIVUS)
The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.

Psalms 9:15 (NLT)
The nations have fallen into the pit they dug for others. They have been caught in their own trap.

Have you ever felt like you were caught up in a swarm of locusts? People were talking about you behind your back. Others were trying to take you down. Your enemies' words were constantly buzzing around your head and you had no peace.

What should you do when this happens? You should put your mind on the promises of God; you know you can rely on these. The Lord God has said that those, who try to sink you, will find that they are drowning in their own schemes. They will be taken down to the pit and the grave. Depression will overtake their minds and they will be humbled.

Your foes may fashion a net to catch you. Their goal is to trap, seize, and dispossess you. They want to take your inheritance and to impoverish you. Even though their plans and purposes are hidden from you, Jehovah the Lord sees all that they are doing and He will not let them achieve their goals. The feet of the talebearers and slanderers will get caught in the very traps that they have laid. They will be ruined, destroyed, and buried in their own evil nets. And you will go on your way free, happy, and peaceful.

8-11-06 Psalms 9:13, 14

Psalms 9:13, 14 (KJ21)
Have mercy upon me, O LORD! Consider my trouble which I suffer from them that hate me, Thou that liftest me up from the gates of death, that I may show forth all Thy praise at the gates of the daughter of Zion. I will rejoice in Thy salvation.

Psalms 9:13, 14 (NAS)
Be gracious to me, O LORD; Behold my affliction from those who hate me, Thou who dost lift me up from the gates of death; That I may tell of all Thy praises, That in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in Thy salvation.

Psalms 9:13, 14 (NIVUS)
O LORD, see how my enemies persecute me! Have mercy and lift me up from the gates of death, that I may declare your praises in the gates of the Daughter of Zion and there rejoice in your salvation.

Psalms 9:13, 14 (NLT)
LORD, have mercy on me. See how I suffer at the hands of those who hate me. Snatch me back from the jaws of death. Save me, so I can praise you publicly at Jerusalem’s gates, so I can rejoice that you have rescued me.

What is the best thing that could ever happen to you? Do you think it would be winning the lottery? Or is becoming the American Idol your dream? Perhaps you would like to attract the attention of the most important and powerful in your field of work? Although all of these sound good and may benefit you, none is the best that could happen.

The best thing for you is receiving the mercy and favor of the Lord God. Jehovah has the power to grant your requests . When you beseech Him, He bestows His gracious good will on you.

Jehovah knows when you are depressed and miserable. He sees the trouble and affliction you suffer and He has pity on you., When you are browbeaten and abased by others, you can be assured that Adonai, the Most High, approves of you. He always provides for you in the sight of those who hate you. He raises you out of pestilence, ruin, and death. He splits open the very gates of hell and brings you up. Almighty God wants to lift and promote you, so He takes you out of the place that breeds worms.

Now you have an opportunity to recount and declare in public how much you adore the Lord your God. Even if you feel naked and exposed, you should express your thanksgiving and praise. As you boast and applaud Yahweh, you shine in the light of His glory. Others may think you are acting clamorously foolish, but that should not stop you from celebrating the Lord's glory, fame, and renown. Stand in the gates and the public squares as a signpost and monument of God's grace and mercy, for even in dry places, He makes you bright and preeminent. He causes you to excel and endure when everyone else is failing.

Therefore, exult and rejoice in the Lord's salvation and deliverance. You have welfare, prosperity, and victory in the name of the Lord your God.

8-10-06 Psalms 9: 11, 12

Psalms 9 11, 12 (KJ21)
Sing praises to the LORD who dwelleth in Zion! Declare among the people His doings. When He maketh inquisition for blood, He remembereth them; He forgetteth not the cry of the humble.

Psalms 9 11, 12 (NAS)
Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion; Declare among the peoples His deeds. For He who requires blood remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted.

Psalms 9 11, 12 (NIVUS)
Sing praises to the LORD, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what he has done. For he who avenges blood remembers; he does not ignore the cry of the afflicted.

Psalms 9 11, 12 (NLT)
Sing praises to the LORD who reigns in Jerusalem. Tell the world about his unforgettable deeds. For he who avenges murder cares for the helpless. He does not ignore those who cry to him for help.

Criticism seems a normal part of life. Most people find pointing out flaws much easier than speaking well of someone. Negativity overrides much that is positive. Even people in the church neglect speaking good.

One of the best ways to counter act this tendency is to begin to praise the Lord. You should lift your voice in praise, singing unto Jehovah, for He conspicuously dwells among His people. As a man and woman settle together in marriage, so too does the Lord your God abide with you. His presence in your midst is a sign and monument to those you meet, for He inhabits your praises. Your glittering praises show that He is eminent and He causes you to excel.

Therefore, stand boldly in front of nations, tribes, and people and manifest God's exploits. He has given you the opportunity to announce His glorious works. You are His messenger to explain His wonders and His word. So fully expound what you have seen and heard. As you follow and pursue the Lord, others will begin to seek and inquire of Him as well. Like you, they will worship Him for the blood that He shed. They will know that without those drops of blood, they would perish and be cut off in their guilt. If they do not praise the Most High God, their silence will utterly destroy them.

Adonai, however, remembers the death of His innocent Son. Even though it is always on His mind, He forgets your sin that sent His Son Yeshua to the cross. He blots them from His memory, for He has heard your cry. He knows that you are lowly and humble. You are poor and needy and you must have his mercy to survive.

Therefore, continue to lift your celebrations of praise to the Most High God. Your life will change for the better.

8-9-06 Psalms 9:10

Psalms 9:10 (KJ21)
And they that know Thy name will put their trust in Thee; for Thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee.

Psalms 9:10 (NAS)
And those who know Thy name will put their trust in Thee; For Thou, O LORD, hast not forsaken those who seek Thee.

Psalms 9:10 (NIVUS)
Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.

Psalms 9:10 (NLT)
Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O LORD, have never abandoned anyone who searches for you.

Missouri is called the "Show Me" state, implying that one should not take things by faith. These folks want to be shown before they will believe. Perhaps some became disappointed in their fellow man, when he broke the bond of his word, which blotted his name and reputation.

Unlike these faithless men, there is on who has and will always keep His word. His name and reputation are intact. Jehovah the Lord keeps His promises to His people.

You probably have seen His faithfulness in your own life. You have acknowledged His authority and you honor Him. He has revealed His character to you and you know His name. You regard His steadfastness and rehearse His marvelous works in your life. You are assured that you can trust Him. Your confidence and hope in Him makes you bold. Because you respect the Lord, you have skillful understanding and wisdom.

You realize that God will never loosen His hold on you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Instead He will fortify and help you. You will not be destitute for Yahweh has committed Himself to you.

Therefore, continue to follow and pursue your God. As you seek and worship Him, you ask and receive all that you need from His hand, for He cares for you. You shall surely be blessed.

8-8-06 Psalms 9:9

Psalms 9:9 (KJV)
The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

Psalms 9:9 (NAS)
The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble,

Psalms 9:9 (NIV)
The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

There are many places in today’s world that are in turmoil. As you listen to news broadcasts, you may think that there is no where to go to be safe. You may begin to fret and worry, but that will not do you any good. There is only one place that you can go to be totally secure.

The Lord Jehovah is supreme over all and He is a refuge and retreat for you. In the stronghold of His presence, you are set high above your enemies. The Most High lifts you up to dwell with Him and your foes do not have access. No one can capture you there. It is a place of prosperity and safety.

Even if you feel crushed and oppressed, shattered and broken, you will be exalted. When you find yourself in tight and narrow places, the Lord God will lift you out and up. He will set you on high and He will be your defense.
