And the Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged,
2 Timothy 2:24 (NIVUS)
And the Lord’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.
2 Timothy 2:24 (NLT)
The Lord’s servants must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone. They must be able to teach effectively and be patient with difficult people.
You have been bound to the Lord God and are obligated to Him. You are devoted to Yeshua the Messiah and have given your will over to Him.
As a servant of the Lord, you must walk as He would walk and talk as He would talk. You should not quarrel, wrangle, or dispute with others. Contention and fighting only leads to more struggles and strife. You will feel that you have been bound in chains.
Let your words be mild and gentle. Teach and instruct others to be kind and affable, patient and forbearing. You should not be troublesome, injurious, and destructive to others, but you should sustain and hold them up. Through this, you represent your Lord well.
