3-3-07 Job 42:1,2

Job 42:1, 2 (KJ21)
Then Job answered the LORD and said: “I know that Thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withheld from Thee."

Job 42:1, 2 (NAS)
Then Job answered the LORD, and said, "I know that Thou canst do all things, And that no purpose of Thine can be thwarted."

Job 42:1, 2 (NIVUS)
Then Job replied to the LORD:"I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted."

Job 42:1, 2 (NLT)
Then Job replied to the LORD: "know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you."

If you have ever read the book of Job in the Bible and then look at your life, most of the time you can say that your life is not that bad. In one day, Job, whose name means 'hated', lost all of his flocks and herds to enemies. Then a tornadic wind came up and all of his sons and daughters were killed. Job was left with a few servants and an unbelieving, bitter wife. At that time he probably did feel hated and you may believe he was, but it was not Adonai, the Lord God, who hated him. Because of his unwavering faith in God, Job became Satan's enemy and he was the one behind all of the tragedy that Job experienced.

Even after all of these terrible things, including being judged and accused by his friends, Job was still able to testify of Jehovah's greatness, for the Almighty God had become his dwelling place. Through that intimacy, Job had come to know that the Lord was powerful, strong, and able to prevail over any of his enemies. Job would be the victor, if he kept his faith and belief in the Lord Most High.

Like Job, you should submit your thoughts, plans, and purposes to the thoughts, plans, and purposes of the Lord. He is able to overcome and accomplish anything in your life. He will help you to endure and to reach your goals, as you stay in submission to Him. Your faith in God will fortify you, making you inaccessible to your enemies. They will be cut off, while you are enclosed and protected in Adonai's presence.

3-2-07 Psalms 17:1

Psalms 17:1 (KJ21)
(A Prayer of David.)
Hear the right, O LORD; attend unto my cry! Give ear unto my prayer, which goeth not out of feigned lips.

Psalms 17:1 (NAS)
(A Prayer of David.)
Hear a just cause, O LORD, give heed to my cry; Give ear to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips.

Psalms 17:1 (NIVUS)
(A prayer of David)
Hear, O LORD, my righteous plea; listen to my cry. Give ear to my prayer— it does not rise from deceitful lips.

Psalms 17:1(NLT)
(A prayer of David.)
O LORD, hear my plea for justice. Listen to my cry for help. Pay attention to my prayer, for it comes from an honest heart.

You may think that prayer is mysterious and you do not exactly know how to pray. If you look at prayer as only a religious duty that you have to perform, then you may be disappointed in your prayer life. However, if you look at it as a conversation with your best friend, you will probably find it to be more rewarding and enjoyable. You can take a lesson from David, King of Israel. As the beloved of the Lord, he knew the true secret of prayer.

Like David, you are free to approach God's throne and ask Him to hear and give heed to your petitions. If you have a just and righteous cause to present to the Lord, you can be sure that He will listen to your request.
In prayer, you are given the privilege to intercede and intervene for others. The Lord Jehovah will attentively incline His ears toward your ringing cry, supplications, entreaties, proclamations of joy and praises. Whether you are in distress or are exulting and rejoicing, you can safely come before the Lord. However, do not try to deceive or mislead with your prayers. The Lord will know if you are dealing treacherously or using trickery, but if you pray with a right attitude and in faith, the Lord will know that as well.

Prayer is a great privilege, which you should take advantage of often. When you do, your life will be richer and fuller and God's peace will protect your heart.

3-1-07 Psalms 16:11

Psalms 16:11 (KJ21)
Thou wilt show me the path of life; in Thy presence is fullness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Psalms 16:11 (NAS)
Thou wilt make known to me the path of life; In Thy presence is fullness of joy; In Thy right hand there are pleasures forever.

Psalms 16:11(NIVUS)
You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Psalms 16:11 (NLT)
You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

The automobiles of today have built in GPX systems, so that you can have instant directions right at your fingertips. If you do not know how to get to a certain destination, you put your information into your GPX and it will give you turn by turn directions to that place. Using your system, you should never get lost. Wouldn't it be nice to have that kind of directional system for your life? Actually you do have a more sophisticated one than any car could ever have.

Adonai, your God, is well able to show you the direction of your life. He helps you to perceive and know the path that you should be on, so that you do not wander in the wrong direction. He also keeps company with you on your life's journey. If you ask Him, the Lord your God will always reveal the way that you should go. Some places you may only pass through, while there are others where you will stay for awhile. You may cross rivers or climb mountains. Perhaps you will wind your way through a valley or forest. Wherever you go, as you ask your Guide, you know you will be going right, for He will always lead you into life and not death. God's path takes you into places that are green, fresh, and flowing. The Lord will sustain you and help you to live prosperously and in health.

In the Almighty's presence, there is fullness and abundance. You will find that you are always satisfied and fulfilled, for the Lord always enriches your life with joy and gladness. The Most High God makes you happy and joyful. In Him your heart will be glad. He has reserved pleasant, sweet, and delightful things for you at His right hand. Everything that He gives you will make your life more lovely and beautiful and you will live forever in His presence, where you receive everlasting strength and victory.

2-28-07 1 Samuel 2:6-8

1 Samuel 2:6-8 (NAS)
The LORD kills and makes alive; He brings down to Sheol and raises up. The LORD makes poor and rich; He brings low, He also exalts. He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the ash heap To make them sit with nobles, And inherit a seat of honor; For the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, And He set the world on them.

1 Samuel 2:6-8(NIVUS)
"The LORD brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave and raises up. The LORD sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts. He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor. "For the foundations of the earth are the LORD’s; upon them he has set the world.

Almighty God, the Creator of all life, is also the One who can cause all to perish. Although He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, He can send them to the grave, the place of no return. Sheol, the abode of the dead, is a place where no one offers praise to God. Those who dwell there died in their sin, not trusting their lives to the Lord Jesus.

However, those who are righteous will not be abandoned to Sheol. Through Yeshua's shed blood, they have received everlasting life. The Lord Jehovah has quickened them, restoring them to life and health. He preserves and sustains them, prosperously providing all that they need to live. He has raised them up from death, taking away even its sting. The Lord gives the righteous excellence in all things, making their lives superior to any of the wicked.

The wealth that the wicked has laid up is not eternally secure; for the Lord can easily cause them to lose it all. He can take all of the riches that they have accumulated and transfer it to account of the righteous. He has promised to prosper His children, making them rich. One way that He accomplishes this is by dispossessing His enemies of their inheritance and laying it up for the just.

The Lord will also humble those who have exalted themselves, bringing them low. These who have pride in the works of their own hands shall be abased, for they have set themselves up as "gods" and have spurned the One True God. However, those who humble themselves before the Lord shall be exalted. He will raise them up, seating them in Heavenly places, for they know that without Him they are nothing and have nothing outside of His grace and mercy.

The Lord raises those who are poor and weak out of the ashes and dust. Although they were used to continuous distress, they are now established and secure in the Rock of their salvation. Jehovah lifts the needy beggars from the refuse heap and dung hill; for they sought His help. He sits them with royalty, making them to dwell with noble men. They have inherited a seat of honor and are hidden in the glory of the Lord. He covers them and conceals them from their enemies. The Lord restores their dignity and reputations, giving them honor. They receive abundant riches, for the Lord their God owns the earth and all that it contains. He has more than enough to give to all of His children.

2-27-07 Psalms 16:9, 10

Psalms 16:9, 10 (KJ21)
Therefore my heart is glad and my spirit rejoiceth; my flesh also shall rest in hope. For Thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt Thou suffer Thine Holy One to see corruption.

Psalms 16:9, 10 (NAS)
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will dwell securely. For Thou wilt not abandon my soul to Sheol; Neither wilt Thou allow Thy Holy One to undergo decay.

Psalms 16:9, 10 (NIVUS)
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.

Psalms 16:9, 10 (NLT)
No wonder my heart is filled with joy, and my mouth shouts his praises! My body rests in safety. For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your godly one to rot in the grave.

Have you ever said "that does my heart good"? If you have not said it, you may have heard someone say this or something similar. You do not need to question the meaning, for you know the person is expressing joy and happiness.

There is nothing or no one who can fill your heart with more joy than Adonai the Lord God. You can rejoice and be glad as the Lord your God fills your life with abundant riches, honor, and glory. He even makes your body to settle down in rest and relaxation and that is another reason to exult. You know you are safe and secure in His love, which gives you confidence and boldness.

Since the Almighty God was faithful to His Son Yeshua, you know He will also be faithful to you. The Most High did not forsake and abandon His Son; God did not leave Him in the grave and the abode of the dead. Jesus was not allowed to see destruction nor did He stay in the pit. Hell could not hold Him, for He was holy, kind, and faithful. Reproach and shame could not keep Him bowed down. As Adonai raised Jesus from the grave, so He will raise you up. In this you can also rejoice.

2-26-07 Jeremiah 33:6, 8, 9

Jeremiah 33: 6, 8, 9 (NIVUS)
Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security...I will cleanse them from all the sin they have committed against me and will forgive all their sins of rebellion against me. Then this city will bring me renown, joy, praise and honor before all nations on earth that hear of all the good things I do for it; and they will be in awe and will tremble at the abundant prosperity and peace I provide for it.

Jeremiah 33: 6, 8, 9 (NLT)
Nevertheless, the time will come when I will heal Jerusalem’s damage and give her prosperity and peace...I will cleanse away their sins against me, and I will forgive all their sins of rebellion. Then this city will bring me joy, glory, and honor before all the nations of the earth! The people of the world will see the good I do for my people and will tremble with awe!

When the Lord God visits His people, He brings blessings with Him. Health and restoration are two of the benefits that He offers those who are His. He gives soundness, which prolongs and lengthens their lives. All of His children profit from the healing cures that the Great Physician bestows He not only heals their bodies, but also their emotional and mental hurts. Where they have had distress, He restores His favor.

Then Jehovah reveals more of Himself to them. He uncovers what He had previously kept hidden. He discloses His abundance, the excess that belongs to Him. He has an abundance of peace and He freely gives that shalom to His own. He makes them complete and well, sound and safe, and tranquil and content.

He also reveals the Truth in His Word. His sons discover how reliable and faithful He is and has always been. They become stable and firm as they stand on His Word; for it always supports, nourishes, and upholds them. They put their trust in Yeshua and believe Him for everything.

Yeshua is the One who cleanses His people, making them pure, though they have been bent and twisted by sin and iniquity. He forgives and pardons them from their depravity and perverseness, taking them from the wrong way in which they were going and placing them on the path of righteousness. Guilty and rebellious, they deserved the severest punishment and yet He gave them mercy.

Now when He hears the names of His children, He rejoices. They bring Him praise through their adoration and thanksgiving. They shine with His glory and boast of His wonderful acts that He has performed for them. The beauty and splendor they display brings Him honor before all the peoples and nations of the earth. They stand in awe and tremble with fear over the abundant goodness and shalom El-shaddai extends to His people, those called by His name. And He is exalted in all the earth!

2-25-07 Proverbs 4: 3, 4

Proverbs 4:3, 4 (KJ21)
For I was my father’s son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. He taught me also and said unto me, "Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments and live."

Proverbs 4:3, 4 (NAS)
When I was a son to my father, Tender and the only son in the sight of my mother, Then he taught me and said to me, "Let your heart hold fast my words; Keep my commandments and live;"

Proverbs 4:3, 4 (NIVUS)
When I was a boy in my father’s house, still tender, and an only child of my mother, he taught me and said, "Lay hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands and you will live."

Proverbs 4:3, 4 (NLT)
For I, too, was once my father’s son, tenderly loved by my mother as an only child. My father told me, "Take my words to heart. Follow my instructions and you will live."

As time has progressed, people have discovered that younger children can learn things that used to seem too difficult for their age. Introducing a second language is now done at the elementary level and even the pre-school level. Children are also becoming familiar with the uses of computers at very early ages. This is not really a new concept, for the Bible has already taught this.

Solomon, the son of Israel's King David and his wife Bathsheba, is the author of the book of Proverbs. In this book, he tells us that at a tender age, when he was still soft, weak, and timid and spending much of his time in his mother's sight, that his parents starting teaching him godly principles.

Like shooting arrows at a target, the words that David spoke to his son were sharply pointed and aimed at directing Solomon's life. David wanted Solomon to take these commandments into his heart, so that they would lodge in his understanding. Solomon needed to think and reflect upon these principles and commit them to his memory. As he did this, he found that they influenced his inclination, resolution, and determination. They also acted as guides to his conscience.

David wanted Solomon to grasp and hold onto these teachings, for he knew that they would always support him. David knew that if Solomon would keep and guard these commandments in his heart, then he would sustain his life. He would prosper, living continually in restoration and health. God's word would always revive him from sickness and discouragement and he would continue to grow and breathe.

Therefore, if you are a parent, choose to follow David's example with Solomon. Do not hesitate to begin to teach your very young children the things of the Lord. You will not be disappointed if you do this, for God's words will always bring them back to center. They will never depart from the faith.
