3-18-06 Job 41:22

Job 41:22 (KJ21)
In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him.

Job 41:22 (NAS)
In his neck lodges strength, And dismay leaps before him.

Job 41:22 (NIVUS)
Strength resides in his neck; dismay goes before him.

Job 41:22 (NLT)
The tremendous strength in its neck strikes terror wherever it goes.

Even body builders could experience weakness. Their immune systems could break down, leaving them open to sickness. Until they are able to build themselves up again, they will remain in that weakened state.

There is One, however, who never loses His strength. Adonai, the Almighty God, has a neck that remains strong. You can rest in the knowledge that the Lord Most High will stay firm. In Him you are secure, for He has the might to bind and besiege your enemies. Through His power, you always prevail.

When you feel faint and are facing failure, do not let yourself become dismayed. If you stay before God, seeking His face, you will not find sorrow and you will not languish. Instead the Lord will cause you to leap and dance. In His presence there is joy for ever more. His joy will strengthen you and you will prevail once again.

3-17-06 2 Corinthians 7:10

2 Corinthians 7:10 (KJ21)
For godly sorrow is not to be repented of, but worketh repentance unto salvation; but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

2 Corinthians 7:10 (NAS)
For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation; but the sorrow of the world produces death.

2 Corinthians 7:10 (NIVUS)
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

2 Corinthians 7:10 (NLT)
For God can use sorrow in our lives to help us turn away from sin and seek salvation. We will never regret that kind of sorrow. But sorrow without repentance is the kind that results in death.

If you have a healthy conscience, you should feel remorse if you do something wrong, immoral, or unethical. It is natural for you to experience sadness, heaviness, and grief. If you are a child of God, this sorrow occurs because you know you were not acting in a godly way and not displaying His characteristics.

This godly sorrow accomplishes much in God's children. It causes you to want to reform and to reverse what you did. Since you cannot change the past, you go to Adonai to repent. You then begin to think differently; you reconsider your actions, so that in the future you will not commit these ungodly deeds. In your repentance you find rescue and safety. Once again the Lord Yeshua extends His salvation and deliverance and you are brought back into proper alignment with Him. And this is something of which He will not repent. He will not change His mind, for He does not regret His decision concerning you.

The people who live according to the world's system do not have this advantage. They may feel the same kind of sorrow and heaviness, but they have no place to go for relief. Their sorrow only produces death, for they do not have access to the power of Almighty God to change them.

Therefore, you should thank God for the sorrow you feel, for it is always an agent to make you better.

3-16-06 Psalms 118:18

Psalms 118:18 (KJ21)
The LORD hath chastened me sorely, but He hath not given me over unto death.

Psalms 118:18 (NAS)
The LORD has disciplined me severely, But He has not given me over to death.

Psalms 118:18 (NIVUS)
The LORD has chastened me severely, but he has not given me over to death.

Psalms 118:18 (NLT)
The LORD has punished me severely, but he has not handed me over to death.

As a parent, you know that there are times in which you have to correct and discipline your children. Although you never want to hurt them, you also know that sometimes it may be necessary to hurt their feelings or to disappoint them. Sometimes the only way we can learn is through such reproof.

Jehovah, the Most Holy God, is no different. He loves you so much that He cannot allow certain behaviors and attitudes to continue. He, therefore, often chastises and instructs you through His word. He wants to bind you to His will. Through teaching or punishment, He disciplines you, so that you will be reformed into His image.

You, however, do not need to dread Adonai's chastening. His discipline is to lift you up and restore you. He desires you to turn back to Him willingly, even if it is with tears and weeping. He does not want you to withdraw from Him, but to yield to His desires. When the Almighty reproves you, it is not to ruin you. His chastisement will not cause your death, but will bring you healing.

3-15-06 Isaiah 45;19

Isaiah 45:19 (KJ21)
I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth; I said not unto the seed of Jacob, ‘Seek ye Me in vain.’ I, the LORD, speak righteousness; I declare things that are right.

Isaiah 45:19 (NAS)
I have not spoken in secret, In some dark land; I did not say to the offspring of Jacob, ‘Seek Me in a waste place’; I, the LORD, speak righteousness Declaring things that are upright.

Isaiah 45:19 (NIVUS)
I have not spoken in secret, from somewhere in a land of darkness; I have not said to Jacob’s descendants, ‘Seek me in vain.’ I, the LORD, speak the truth; I declare what is right.

Isaiah 45:19 (NLT)
I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner so no one can understand what I mean. And I did not tell the people of Israel to ask me for something I did not plan to give. I, the LORD, speak only what is true and right.

When the Lord Jehovah speaks to you, it is usually something that will build you. He rarely says anything that is destructive. His words arrange situations and circumstances according to His commands and promises. He does not hide His will from you, nor does He keep it secret. It is not disguised or covert. He does not keep you ignorant or in the dark. He does not intend His words to cause you misery or sorrow.

Instead He desires you to rise and abide. He wants to life you, so that you will endure. He has established and strengthened you for success. He intends your seed to be fruitful. What you conceive will bear; what you sow will yield. You, however, must seek God in worship and prayer. Strive after His will. Ask and request what you require from Adonai. This is not a waste of your time or your words for the Lord your God will not leave you in a worthless and empty place, where there is nothing. You will never seek the Lord in vain.

Adonai has appointed prosperity for you. He has spoken cleansing words over you and these have brought you righteousness. He has boldly announced straightness and evenness to your path. He has declared that your life shall be filled with everything that is right, sweet, and pleasant. His words will manifest goodness for you, for He esteems you highly.

3-14-06 Daniel 9:9

Daniel 9:9 (KJ21)
To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against Him;

Daniel 9:9 (NAS)
To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against Him;

Daniel 9:9 (NIVUS)
The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him;

Daniel 9:9 (NLT)
But the Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him.

When you were young, you probably rebelled against your parents at certain times. You wanted your own way. You thought you knew better than your elders. When you went against their wishes, you usually found yourself in trouble and needed your parents' help, love, and forgiveness.

You also know that you have rebelled against the Most High God. Adonai is your Lord, Master, and Owner. He is the sovereign and supreme God and you need to defer to Him in all things.

Although the Lord your God is strong and mighty. He is compassionate and merciful. He cherishes you with tender love. When you rebel against Him, He extends pardon and forgiveness to you. He wants to spare you from His wrath and punishment, for His love for you is great!

Therefore, when you find yourself in trouble with God because of your rebellion, ask Him to help you. Like your loving parents, He will quickly come to your rescue and restore you to Himself a

March 14th-The Jewish Festival of Purim

Purim—have you ever heard that word? If you have heard it, do you know what it means? Frankly, I did not know what it meant other than it was something Jewish. Since today, March 14th is the Jewish festival of Purim, I did some research.

In the Old Testament, there is a book called “Esther”, in which a Jewish girl named Esther becomes the queen of Persia. Her Hebrew origins are unknown to the king. She is selected for her beauty and poise and quickly becomes the king’s favorite.

As time passes, Esther’s uncle Mordecai, who is one of the king’s counselors, gains an enemy in a man named Haman. Haman plots and connives to destroy Mordecai and his people, the Jews. Mordecai learns of the plot and persuades Esther to use her influence with her husband. Esther agrees, even though the king has not called for her in many days. She knows that if she appears before the king without his consent, that the king could have her executed, but she also knows that if she does not, she could be responsible for the annihilation of her race. After days of prayer and fasting, Esther awaits at the door of the king’s court. When the king sees his beautiful wife, he extends his scepter to her, granting her his favor. She then invites the king and Haman to dinner, not once but several times. Finally, she is able to reveal Haman’s plot to the king. Haman is hung on the gallows that he had presumptuously built for Mordecai.

However, a decree has already gone out from the king to slaughter the Jews. The king gives Mordecai a new decree that says the Jews are allowed to fight back, which they do successfully. Since this time, the Hebrew people celebrate their salvation and deliverance during Purim. It is a time of celebration and giving of food and gifts to others. The book of Esther is read and there is great rejoicing. Often people dress in costumes and simply party!

3-13-06 Psalms 68:20

Psalms 68:20 (KJ21)
He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belongeth the discharge from death.

Psalms 68:20 (NAS)
God is to us a God of deliverances; And to GOD the Lord belong escapes from death.

Psalms 68:20 (NIVUS)
Our God is a God who saves; from the Sovereign LORD comes escape from death.

Psalms 68:20 (NLT)
Our God is a God who saves! The Sovereign LORD rescues us from death.

El-Shaddai is a God of strength and power. He is Jehovah, the Almighty, who has power over life and death. He is a pillar and holds you up like the post of a door. He is the King of kings and High Priest for His Father, Adonai. He is Immanuel, the God who is with us.

He willingly became a sacrificial ram, the Lamb of God to take away the sins of the world. He shed His own red blood to buy your salvation and deliverance. He went into the dim, dark realm where death resided and became its Lord and Master. He overcame the powers of darkness and sin and returned to life in victory.

Now He has set borders that death cannot cross. He is your source of life and has provided you an escape from death. When He came out of the darkness, He brought you with Him. And you enjoy the victory that He won!

3-12-06 Deuteronomy 10:12

Deuteronomy 10:12 (KJ21)
And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

Deuteronomy 10:12 (NAS)
And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require from you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

Deuteronomy 10:12 (NIVUS)
And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

Deuteronomy 10:12 (NLT)
And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you? He requires you to fear him, to live according to his will, to love and worship him with all your heart and soul,

From the beginning of time, Jehovah the one True God has desired a strong people for Himself. He, therefore, created Israel, a prince of God and gave him the power to contend with His enemies. God made Israel strong enough to prevail against everyone who came against him.

You have been adopted into His family and His nation and there are some things that He requires of you. He simply asks you to honor, revere, and respect Him, for He is an awesome God and causes you astonishment. You should fear Him.

Jehovah desires to direct your life and requests that you walk in His ways. You should order your life, so that you habitually follow His word, treading the path that He has laid out for you. He will lead you throughout your life and up until the day you die. And you have nothing to fear in His guidance.

Now you love the Lord your God and you walk with Him as a friend. You work for Him and serve Him with your whole heart and soul, for He has refreshed and restored you to wholeness.
