4-28-07 Psalms 18:2

Psalms 18:2 (NIVUS)
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalms 18:2 (NLT)
The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the strength of my salvation, and my stronghold.

In today's precarious world, where terrorism seems to reign, sometimes you may feel that there is no safe place. If that is the case for you, perhaps you need to change where you are focused. Looking to the government or any other institution of this world's system can bring down your whole countenance and attitude down, but if you will look up, you will find hope.

Jehovah the Lord is your stronghold and security. You are held fast on this Rock, where you have every provision that you need. He is your escape from all of your enemies and allows you to simply slip away from their grasp. Jesus the Lord is your Savior and Deliverer and the God who gives you strength and power. He shields you like a mighty tree or a rocky wall. Nothing can penetrate this defense. As you put your confidence and trust in the Most High God, you know that you can always flee to Him for protection and refuge. He covers you as a shield and buckler. He will ward off any blows that are aimed at you.

The Lord your God causes you to shine, for He has anointed you with the oil of His salvation. He always has your welfare, prosperity, and victory in mind. He, therefore, sets you high above your foes, so that you are inaccessible to them. In Adonai your God, you are always safe and secure.

4-27-07 Jeremiah 33: 2, 3

Jeremiah 33: 2, 3(NIV)
This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it— the LORD is his name: Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.

The Lord Jehovah is the Creator of the earth. He formed it and fashioned it according to His purpose. It is firmly established and fixed. It is stable, secure, and enduring. This Creator calls and proclaims Himself the Lord!
He tells you to call upon Him and to cry out with a loud voice for His help.

He will answer and respond to your call not once, but repeatedly--every time you call! Not only will He answer, but He will also share His secrets and mysteries with you. He will show you things you did not previously know or learn. He will also teach you discernment and discrimination. Since the Lord Himself is Wisdom, He will make you wise as you call upon Him for help.

So call upon Jehovah and expect to receive your answer! It is as sure and firmly established as the earth!!!

4-26-07 Psalms 18:1

Psalms 18:1 (NIVUS)
(For the director of music. Of David the servant of the LORD. He sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.)
He said: I love you, O LORD, my strength.

Psalms 18:1(NLT)
(For the choir director: A psalm of David, the servant of the LORD. He sang this song to the LORD on the day the LORD rescued him from all his enemies and from Saul.)
I love you, LORD; you are my strength.

Psalms 18:1 (NRSV)
I love you, O LORD, my strength.

David, Israel' second king, was beloved of the Lord God; he, however, referred to himself as Jehovah's servant. He saw himself as working and laboring for God, but he was also a worshiper of the Most High. Through his psalms, poems that he set to music, David declared the words of the Lord. Since he was in communion with his God, he was able to speak Adonai's commandments and promises with authority, for he knew the heart of God.

David marked special events with psalms. In this one, he is expressing his gratitude and praise to Jehovah for His delivering power in stripping away David's enemies. The Lord set David free and set him in a wide open place, where he was safe. God's hand shielded him from those who wanted to smite him with deadly intent. When King Saul rose up in power against David, Jehovah the Lord was faithful to rescue and protect him. Even when Saul laid false charges and demands on him, David could rely on God's word. Therefore, David loved the Lord God with great affection and friendship. David clung to and delighted in Adonai. His desire was set on the Almighty, for he knew that his strength and power only came from God. In Him, David was established and fortified, so that he could prevail.

Therefore, when you are being pursued by enemies who appear more powerful than you, you should choose to love God. Like David, you should not hold back your affection for the Lord. As you cling to and delight in Adonai, you too will be rescued and delivered.

4-25-07 2 Peter 1:19

2 Peter 1:19 (NAS)
So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.

You have chosen to hold onto God's word; you adhere and cling to it. It is a treasured possession that is stable, firm, sure and trustworthy. Through it, you learn God's thoughts. It sheds light and gives you the power to understand moral and spiritual truth. You do well to keep it near to your heart; let your mind always be attentive to it, for this is a beautiful, honorable and excellent thing!

As a lamp, it guides your steps, making them clear; it manifests God's will for your life. It keeps you from dark, dirty, and squalid places. As you embrace it, the darkness does not overcome you and you continually live in its Light. Yeshua (Jesus), the Word of God made flesh, is the Daystar of you life!

4-24-07 1 Peter 5:10

1 Peter 5:10 (Philips)
And after you have borne these sufferings a very little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to share his eternal splendor through Christ, will himself make you whole and secure and strong.

God Almighty, the Lord Most High, is the God of all grace--that which affords joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness, good will, favor, and mercy. He is this same God who has called you. He invited you by your very own name to share His glory, His majesty, His magnificence, His excellence, and His dignity. This is a most glorious condition and a most exalted state. All of this was made possible by Jesus Christ, His only Begotten Son.

Your suffering, which was for just a short time, is finally over, for God had made you sound and complete. He has mended what was rent and has repaired what was broken. He has put everything back in order and has made you what you ought to be. He has made you stable and caused you to stand firm. You continue safe and unharmed. He prepares you and makes you ready for anything. He has given you a steadfast mind that does not hesitate or waver. He has strengthened you and settled you on a firm foundation. Whenever the storms blow, you will remain strong for you are firmly established on and in The Rock!

4-23-07 1 Corinthians 1:27

I Corinthians 1:27 (ASV)
but God chose the foolish things of the world, that he might put to shame them that are wise;
and God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong;

God the Father, through Yeshua His Son, and by the power of His Holy Spirit,
has chosen you to receive His favors and continually partake of His gracious oversight.
You are peculiarly His own.

To the world you may appear foolish, but you are God's secret treasure, a mystery of His Kingdom. He uses you to bring shame, disgrace, and dishonor to those who consider themselves wise, skilled, expert, cultivated and learned. Do not worry if they think you are weak, feeble, or infirm--their thinking is distorted by sin!

God has made you strong and mighty. He has given you the strength of soul to withstand Satan's attacks. He has made you strong, firm and sure. In His sight you are an excellent man, endowed with His abilities and His authority!

4-22-07 Philippians 2:14-16

Philippians 2:14-16 (Philips)

Do all you have to do without grumbling or arguing, so that, you may be blameless and harmless, faultless children of God, living in a warped and diseased age, and shining like lights in a dark world. For you hold up in your hands the very word of life. Thus can you give me something to be proud of in the day of Christ, for I shall know then that I did not spend my energy in vain.

Always maintain a good attitude, no matter what you do. Do not grumble or complain. Do not argue or dispute with anyone about anything.

As you practice this you become blameless and harmless. No one can find a fault or a defect in you. There is no mixture of evil in you. You are innocent and without guile, for you are a son of God. No one can find a blemish, a blot, or a reason for disgrace in you, even though you live among wicked and perverse people who are in opposition to the saving purposes and plans of God. Your life is so bright and resplendent in comparison that you appear heavenly, walking in the truth and knowledge of God that produces moral and spiritual purity.

You cling to and possess the Word of God, Jesus Christ, who became flesh and dwelt among us. You hold fast to every word that He has spoken; you have a life that is blessed, real, genuine, active and vigorous--a life totally devoted to God. You are fresh, strong, efficient, and powerful.

So glory in Christ, the Anointed, your Messiah! You are not striving and exerting yourself for something that is empty, vain, and devoid of truth. You are not a vessel that contains nothing, destitute of spiritual wealth and fruitless. Even though you grow tired, weary and exhausted in your labor in God's kingdom, continue to run your race. You shall not be disappointed, for it is through faith and patience that you will inherit everything that God has stored up for you
