5-4-06 Psalms 36:9

Psalms 36:9 (KJ21)
For with Thee is the fountain of life; in Thy light shall we see light.

Psalms 36:9 (NAS)
For with Thee is the fountain of life; In Thy light we see light.

Psalms 36:9 (NIVUS)
For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

Psalms 36:9 (NLT)
For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see.

Everything has a starting point, a place of origin. A river has a source, the place where its flow begins. You also have a source and a beginning. Clinically, you think your start was when your father's sperm penetrated your mother's egg. Biologically, that is true; however, without your Creator's help, even that would not be sufficient to bring forth life. Adonai, the Almighty God, is the source from which your life springs and flows. He is the fountain and the well that keeps you alive and fresh. You receive your strength from the Most High. He also is the source of your happiness and wisdom.

Without the Lord's light and illumination, you cannot clearly see your way. When you behold His glory, you are happier and brighter. Gazing upon His light causes you to shine. He sets you on fire and you glow like the morning sun. You know that He approves of you and now you can enjoy each experience of your life. You have respect in the sight of others and that gives you great joy. You have discovered the source of your life and know that He provides everything that you need.

5-3-06 Psalms 36:8

Psalms 36:8 (KJ21)
They shall be abundantly satisfied with the bounty of Thy house, and Thou shalt make them drink of the river of Thy pleasures.

Psalms 36:8 (NAS)
They drink their fill of the abundance of Thy house; And Thou dost give them to drink of the river of Thy delights.

Psalms 36:8 (NIVUS)
They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights.

Psalms 36:8 (NLT)
You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your rivers of delight.

Have you ever been so thirsty that you thought that the only way to quench it was to soak in a tub of water? Maybe your thirst is not physical, but spiritual. How do you quench that?

The only way to satisfy your spiritual hunger and thirst is in the house of Adonai, the Most High and Holy God. In the palace and court of the Lord, you will be abundantly satisfied and your thirst will be slaked. As a member of God's family, you have been anointed and accepted. His abundance is yours. You can eat and drink your fill from His provision.

Jehovah, the Lord your God, has more than enough for you. You could drown or become drunk in all that He supplies. In fact, He provides a banquet for you. He always gives more than you can ask or think. He invites you to partake of His river, which will give your pleasure and delight. You will live voluptuously in His blessings.

5-2-06 Psalms 36:7

Psalms 36:7 (KJ21)
How excellent is Thy lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Thy wings.

Psalms 36:7 (NAS)
How precious is Thy lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Thy wings.

Psalms 36:7 (NIVUS)
How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings.

Psalms 36:7 (NLT)
How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.

In today's world, there are not many things that could be considered excellent. Workmanship is often sub-standard and attitudes are bad. People have gotten used to less and do not strive for more. However, for those of us who are Christians, there is a better way.

You serve an excellent God, who has an honorable reputation. One of the most valuable and precious attributes of Adonai, the Most High God, is His kindness and favor that He freely gives you. The goodness and mercy that you receive is very costly; it is only through the shed blood of Yeshua, the Son of God, that God's lovingkindness is available to you.

As a Son of God, a member of His family, you have discovered that you can take refuge in Adonai. You can always flee to Him for protection. When you confide in and put your trust in the Almighty, you have hope and confidence. In Him you are secure and your footsteps are sure. You are concealed in the shadow of Adonai's wings, which He spreads over you. His presence hovers over you, for He cares deeply for you.

5-1-06 Psalms 30:5

Psalms 30:5 (KJ21)
For His anger endureth but a moment, and in His favor is life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Psalms 30:5 (NAS)
For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

Psalms 30:5 (NIVUS)
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Psalms 30:5 (NLT)
His anger lasts for a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may go on all night, but joy comes with the morning.

Even in close family relationships, there are times when anger is aroused. Children can do things to displease their parents or also make them angry. Usually these heightened emotions soon subside, allowing parents and children to discuss their differences in a civil, peaceful way.

There are times when Adonai, your Heavenly Father, may become angry with you. However, you do not need to fear His eternal wrath, for His anger lasts for a momentary instant. In the twinkling of an eye, He returns to the rest and repose that is His norm. As you quickly settle your disagreements, you too return to quiet rest; it is important, however, that you do not harden your heart against the Lord.

You are the Lord's delight and you have received His favor, goodwill, and acceptance. He looks on you with satisfaction. Through His favor your life remains green and fresh. Like the coming of springtime, you are continually revived. He restores your health and causes you to live prosperously. He will sustain you alive forever.

You still may experience times of weeping through grief and humiliation. However, these tears and lamenting will not remain forever. As a guest lodges only for a night, the grief will not stay permanently. Joy will return with the morning's light.

As God's anger remains only an instant, so too does your grief and mourning. With the Lord's favor, you will be assured of everlasting joy and exaltation.

4-30-06 Proverbs 19:11

Proverbs 19:11 (KJ21)
The discretion of a man deferreth his anger, and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

Proverbs 19:11 (NAS)
A man’s discretion makes him slow to anger, And it is his glory to overlook a transgression.

Proverbs 19:11 (NIVUS)
A man’s wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense.

Proverbs 19:11 (NLT)
People with good sense restrain their anger; they earn esteem by overlooking wrongs.

Anger seems normal, especially in today's society. When you drive in a congested metropolitan area, you face aggression and rage on a daily basis. News broadcasts often report on murders, rapes, and assaults and many times those are actions produced in anger. However, none of these should be normal for the child of God.

You will face anger and things that displease you, but you can choose not to act on those angry feelings. Because you are a child of God, you have prudence, insight, and understanding. The wisdom of Adonai, the Almighty God, is at your disposal. You can ponder and consider your actions beforehand. You can defer your angry feelings. When you hesitate and delay in reacting in anger, when you are patient and slow to anger, you open a door of prosperity and abundance for your life.

You have the power to overlook and forgive those who trespass and transgress against you. You can pass over and get beyond their sinful actions and words towards you. As you advance past these hurtful things, you will see beauty and glory manifested in your life. You will receive honor, rank, and renown when you live in forgiveness.
