4-13-07 Matthew 11:28-30

Come to me, all you who are troubled and weighted down with care, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke on you and become like me, for I am gentle and without pride, and you will have rest for your souls; For my yoke is good, and the weight I take up is not hard.

"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest." Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and YOU SHALL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy, and My load is light."

Day to day living sometimes can make you grow tired and exhausted. Perhaps you have been working and laboring hard and long hours. Maybe burdens have over taken you and weighed you down. At times you may suffer a loss that brings you grief and heart-ache. You feel fatigued and you think that your load is just too heavy to bear. Is there an answer? Yes, emphatically yes!

Yeshua, your Messiah and Lord, has provided it. Now He urges and calls you to come to Him. When you draw near, you will be able to receive everything that you need. He will give you rest and refreshing. He will quiet and calm your mind. In His presence, you will recover and collect your strength. What has been causing your weariness will cease.

Now the Lord commands you to take up His yoke, which is not heavy or burdensome; for He gives you grace to bear this load. His yoke actually brings you into balance, which relieves you of stress. You must, however, take time to learn and increase your knowledge of Him. You will begin to understand that He is meek, gentle, and mild of disposition. He humbled Himself to become man and He understands the weaknesses that you bear in your flesh.

Whenever you draw near to the Lord your God, you will discover that He has the rest and refreshment that you need. You find that in His presence you can cease from all of your labors. He will loosen those strings that have tightened around you, setting you free from all of your afflictions. Then your soul will relax.

So take up His yoke. Under it you will find that your life becomes more manageable. It will bring you ease; for the burden that He places on you is light. You will find that instead of being weary and weighed down with fatigue, you will be quick and agile. You will be moved along as a sailing ship under a gentle steady breeze. Rest and peace will be the norm in your life.
