4-11-07 Matthew 6:33, 34

Mathew 6: 33, 34 (NAS)
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Mathew 6: 33, 34 (NRSV)
But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Something that is truly valuable is worth seeking after, with singleness of purpose. The Kingdom of God is the most valuable thing you can seek. You should make it your first and primary aim, your chief concern. You should crave it and require it, just like you crave and require the very air you breathe.

What is the Kingdom of God? It is the reign or ruler-ship of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, in your life. As He has dominion and authority over His kingdom, so He desires dominion and authority over your heart. As you spend time meditating and thinking about His desires, they will be something that you strive for and aim at more and more. You will progressively become totally conformed to His image and His will.
There is nothing that you can desire, need or want that God cannot give you. However, none of these things should take His place. As you keep Him as the center of your life, He continually and abundantly increases you in every area.

Do not let yourself get anxious or troubled about anything. Do not divide your thoughts between the Kingdom of God and your earthly life. Do not worry about tomorrow, but keep striving after the Lord! Keep your thoughts stayed on Him and He will keep you in perfect peace--shalom--nothing missing, nothing broken!

Be at peace! Just like He took care of you yesterday, He will do the same today. And the Lord God will also take care of you tomorrow!
