3-20-06 Isaiah 14:3

Isaiah 14:3 (KJ21)
And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow and from thy fear and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,

Isaiah 14:3 (NAS)
And it will be in the day when the LORD gives you rest from your pain and turmoil and harsh service in which you have been enslaved,

Isaiah 14:3 (NIVUS)
On the day the LORD gives you relief from suffering and turmoil and cruel bondage,

Isaiah 14:3 (NLT)
In that wonderful day when the LORD gives his people rest from sorrow and fear, from slavery and chains,

You have longed for a day when you will not have any more trouble. There is Someone else who longs for that day as well. The Lord Jehovah desires to bless your life; He, therefore, has already spoken that time into existence. He has already promised that future to you.

When that time period comes, you will have rest. Your life will settle down and you will remain quiet, for all pain and sorrow will abandon you. The things that hurt you and caused you offense will no longer exist. The toil and hardship will be left behind. You will no longer be tortured with grief. Nothing will make your tremble with agitation. No one will rage against you, causing you to fear. Although you have been forced to do hard labor, you will have peace and freedom.

Those who have treated you cruelly and severely will face a different fate on the day that the Lord God gives you rest. They were stubborn and stiff-necked, refusing to bow their knees to the One True God. He will break their necks. Those who ill-treated you will find themselves hard pressed. Life will become burdensome for those who made your life difficult.

You, however, will continue to serve Almighty God in peace and rest. You will be deposited into an open place of repose
