7-6-07 Job 5: 19-21

Job 5: 19-21(BBE)
He will keep you safe from six troubles, and in seven no evil will come near you.When there is need of food he will keep you from death, and in war from the power of the sword. He will keep you safe from the evil tongue; and you will have no fear of wasting when it comes.

Job 5: 19-21(NAS)
From six troubles He will deliver you, Even in seven evil will not touch you. In famine He will redeem you from death, And in war from the power of the sword. You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, Neither will you be afraid of violence when it comes.

Job 5: 19-21(NIVUS)
From six calamities he will rescue you; in seven no harm will befall you.In famine he will ransom you from death, and in battle from the stroke of the sword. You will be protected from the lash of the tongue, and need not fear when destruction comes.

There are many things to fear in this world--natural disasters and evil men, among others. However, for you, child of God, fear should not rule your life. Adonai, who is your Lord, has pledged Himself to take care of you. If six troubles should beset you at one time, even then do not let fear take control, for God has promised to rescue and deliver you. He will save you; He will spoil and plunder your enemies and rivals. He will not allow them to bind you or push you into a narrow and tight place.

Maybe you think that things could not get any worse, but then a seventh comes against you. Even then do not let your heart be troubled. Jehovah will not let anything evil or bad reach you. It cannot touch you and you will not be defeated. Although you find yourself in a land suffering with famine, Jehovah will redeem and ransom you from death. He will rescue and deliver you. You will not die prematurely.

When you find yourself in a war or battle, the hand that holds the sword will not be able to wield it against you. The enemy's abundance of power and strength will be weak when it comes toward you. It will not be able to accomplish or complete its plans. You will not be laid waste nor made desolate.

Because He loves you fervently, cherishing your every breath, He will hide you even from a war of words. No one will slander or accuse you. Any tongue lashing that would try to whip you with words will be powerless. None will be able to chastise or judge you.

Therefore, do not be afraid of violence or destruction in any form. The Lord your God will keep you safe and preserve you, when you put your trust in Him.
