4-22-06 Deuteronomy 4:31

Deuteronomy 4:31 (KJ21)
(for the LORD thy God is a merciful God), He will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which He swore unto them.

Deuteronomy 4:31 (NAS)
For the LORD your God is a compassionate God; He will not fail you nor destroy you nor forget the covenant with your fathers which He swore to them.

Deuteronomy 4:31 (NIVUS)
For the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your forefathers, which he confirmed to them by oath.

Deuteronomy 4:31 (NLT)
For the LORD your God is merciful—he will not abandon you or destroy you or forget the solemn covenant he made with your ancestors.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and it is good for you to stand in awe and respect of the Most High God. He does have the power over life and death, but Jehovah your Lord is a compassionate and merciful God. Even though He is the judge and ruler of the universe, He looks on you with tender love and affection.

Adonai, the Almighty, does not want you to sink down and drop from disheartenment. He will not let you go. You need never fear that He will abandon and forsake you. He will not destroy you. You will not find ruin and corruption in His hands. He gives you health and soundness, instead of injury and decay.

Jehovah the Lord has established a covenant with you. Your Creator has married you to Himself. He is your husband, owner, and master. So then, how could He ever forget or ignore you? He will never cease to care for you, as He swore to you fathers before you. He took an oath with Himself to be your God and Father for eternity.
