7-30-06 Psalms 9:3, 4

Psalms 9:3, 4 (KJ21)
When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at Thy presence. For Thou hast maintained my right and my cause; Thou sittest on the throne judging right.

Psalms 9:3, 4 (NAS)
When my enemies turn back, They stumble and perish before Thee. For Thou hast maintained my just cause; Thou dost sit on the throne judging righteously.

Psalms 9:3, 4 (NIVUS)
My enemies turn back; they stumble and perish before you. For you have upheld my right and my cause; you have sat on your throne, judging righteously.

Psalms 9:3, 4 (NLT)
My enemies turn away in retreat; they are overthrown and destroyed before you. For you have judged in my favor; from your throne, you have judged with fairness.

There will be times when you are confronted with people who are hostile to you. They may even hate you and consider you an enemy. You, however, do not need to fear your foes, for you are a child of Almighty God. The Lord your God will make them retreat and turn back. He will break their lines of attack and they will be hindered. Instead of coming towards you, they will be forced backward.

Your adversaries' ankles will become weak and they will totter. As they falter and stumble, they will grow faint and will be easily overthrown. They will perish and be destroyed when they see the face of the God. They will not be able to escape from His anger. They will be undone and made void in the presence of the Lord.

You, as a child of the Most High, have rights and privileges that your enemies do not have. The Lord has bestowed many blessings on you. He appoints justice as your due. You have received a favorable verdict and have been declared not guilty. When you plead your cause before Him, God will perform what you ask and provide all that you need. As the Lord sits on His throne, judging between right and wrong, He will vindicate and avenge you. From the quiet of His secret place, God will defend you.
