10-07-07 2 Chronicles 6:41
Now therefore arise, O LORD God, to Thy resting place, Thou and the ark of Thy might; let Thy priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let Thy godly ones rejoice in what is good.
2 Chronicles 6:41 (NLT)
And now, O LORD God, arise and enter this resting place of yours, where your magnificent Ark has been placed. May your priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and may your saints rejoice in your goodness.
Rising up and resting seem to be totally opposite actions. Yet Jehovah is capable of both. He has arisen, coming on the scene to fulfill His purpose. Since His will has been fixed and established, the Lord God has settled down and remains at rest. Adonai's Ark, the symbol of His everlasting covenant of mercy for man, abides in that place of rest. It is also a picture of Jehovah's mighty power--a strength that can create or destroy-- that remains at peace.
From that resting place, the Lord Jehovah calls His priests, those who minister and serve before Him. You are one of these ministers. You have cried out to the Lord, seeking His help. He has heard you and has clothed you with His salvation and deliverance. He has liberated you and made you victorious.
Now you are counted among His faithful. He has made you holy and set you apart for Himself. You are called saint, for the Lord God has been kind and good to you. He has set you above any reproach or shame. You rejoice because your life is good and pleasant. It is rich and has value.
